So here's the idea for the thread. post three things you think could be added to eve to make it really polished. Post them in order of importance. So the 1st suggestion is the most important to you, the 3rd would be fun but its not a big deal if they don't do it.

1.
2.
3.

If we make a big enough thread it could be useful for the eves as the balance side comes along nicely there's always more you can do to make your game better.!

Now just to make it clear. By polished I don't mean like the 1000 paper cuts thread. That's gameplay, design, important stuff. This is the thread for the little details! The stuff that's fun but not really important to game play. It's those little things that make a good game stand out imo. So I think this is important.

example*
1.Hit effects
I know, I know, they are already coming, and there is some sweet video for hull damage. But this is the biggest part of eve polish I think could happen. When people check out eve , combat looks like a bunch of lasers all hitting you at the same spot. I mean, it's not a very good 1st impression for game as pretty as eve online. The new missile effects actually hit the hull wherever they happen to land, looks slick.

2.Add sound to the TV in the CQ
Yeah yeah WiS sucks, blah blah, but really adding sounds like this into eve might be great! Locational sound, so the closer you get to the TV the louder it gets. The eve sound engine could use an overhual. For instance having different sound effects for turrets when far away instead of just mutting them.I think adding sound to the scope news animation would really beef up the immersion. Plus it gives a better 1st impression of the game.

3. unique names for rare items. Add the old names of these rare items you recently overhualed into the show info desribion of the module or implant. Make a reference to how it was renamed due to some market politics, or something. Keep the old name in the show info so people can still call them by the old names. Have the new times show up if you search for the old ones!

that has massive effects on gameplay. you've missed the pointof the thread. Maybe something like, make local more pretty? Make it so whenever you smack talk in local it computer speaks your insults to the other players.Maybe you want local chat to get beefier chat tools? that effect the game in no way.

Just fun stuff...

1. Enable a limited EVE Fitting tool in-game so players can check "can I?" and "what if" fits while docked up - with the ability to save & link the fits plus generate a "shopping list".
2. Finish some of the plans for EVE Gate - management of the skill queue from the web.
3. Enable the purchasing of advertising time (corp recruiting, products and such) on space billboards & for CQ TV - to players.

If a bottom up code revision became a year-long goal, I'd love to see them up the server's heartbeat so manual piloting could be more fluid. This would be pretty devastating for performance unless heavy optimization was involved, however.

I know it is actually a huge change and not really polish, but...

1. Celestial bodies that move in orbit!
2. Warp transition time reduced, at least for low mass ships.
3. Less bouncy collisions.

I know number 1 is probably a pipe dream, but it would be sweet.

Actually preforming pre warp calculations to account for planetary orbits sounds exactly like something that belongs in a space sim.

1. Have me a way where I can make the text on the screen bigger.
2. Instead of makin me go to that their room when Im at the station, let me go inside my ship. I'd like to see what it looks like in the inside. Perhaps make it where I can even walk around in the ship while Im in space.
3. Give me somethin else to see besides planets, stations and rocks. How about asteroids flyin by or somethen like that.
