This video from another post says it all.

Ganking Miners - So easy a 7-year-old can do it, (while being coached)

So this is what is considered a challenge in EVE these days. This is why people log in? To do something a 7 year old can do having never done it before! And they say Carebears aren't playing the game and EVE has a high learning curve

Forget all those cool videos about building empires, building ships... save yourselves time and money and just show this video for promo from now on.

Insure you ship and fit defensibly, but the most important rule is always if you can't afford to lose it don't fly it.

In eve a fool and his ship are soon parted ;)

I'm a relatively respectable citizen. Multiple felon perhaps, but certainly not dangerous.

Hehe Skye again huh? Her daddy has been coaching her into EVE since she was 4 so yeah BoBoZoBo does have a point.

That and she probably has no idea about ship fittings or a lot of the market or any industry stuff. He dad probably picks out fits and skills for her and she just does the pew pew bit.

Do not confuse a challenge with what people consider fun.

Also, the 7 year old did not have to plan skill queues, figure out how to make isk to get the skills, shio, etc.

Honestly, instead of posting something of value, you come across as bitter, hurt, and trying to cop an attitude of superiority of yourself over the gankers. Given that such seems to be very hypocritical as the gankers do the same and are hated for it, your post seems lacking. I mean really, you are just invite "you mad neo" and "show us on the doll where the evil gankers touched you" posts.

Why not instead try to contribute positively in a useful and constructive manner? Or u mad bro?

I'm not trying to knock the girl - she is actually a bad ass and I dont think I would have been playing EVE at 7. So Kudos to her and her dad.

Just saying this whole focus on Hulkageddon is a bit lame for a game that considers itself hi-brow. Even if the Miner was bad enough to get ganked by a 7year old, it just proves the point further.

OP, people don't gank miners because it is challenging, they do it because they find it entertaining. People who REALLY want to mine in peace should join the nullbears out in 0.0. So long as you pay attention to local (and Monkeysphere isn't hacking), you can get to safety.

It can be the best and/or most challenging game in the world, but if a person decides to play it poorly (or be AFK during play) and makes themselves an easy target, it isn't a reflection on the game.

It's a reflection on the players ability.

If I entered myself into a world class chess championship I would be destroyed in short order... that doesn't make the game of chess any less challenging or reflect on it in any way. In fact, if I played chess against your average 7 year old that at least understood the rules of chess I'd probably still get destroyed... again, no reflection on the quality of the game itself.

OP is wrong. It's much more complicated. To gank a miner you have to queue skills for like a week, earn few millions to equip destroyer by finishing simple starter quest arc, watch couple of videos.

7 y.o. child can't do that. Only 10 years old.

Not much to say other than the next time I see a ganker in a belt im going to picture that adorable 7yold blowing up ships. +1 op for finding this video.
