why the most popular fit for apoc is pulse guns and beam lasers for abaddon ? shouldnt it be the other way around ? beams eat more capacitor and abaddon is short on it.

If by beams on an Abaddon you mean the beams its Pulse lasers fire out then sure beams.

Fitting a full rack of T2 Megabeams puts an Apoc over grid. Duel Beams are pointless in general and Tachs take so many RCU's that tankless Sniper is its only real use and the Oracle is better at it. Scorch Pulse on an Apoc hit to what? Like 80KM and leave tons of Grid for Armor, Speed, Cap Boost and do more DPS with Scorch anyway then beams at that range. Don't need much more unless you are sniping in which case Oracle.

Beams are rarer then Artillery on T1 Amarr Battleships.

You're looking at the wrong bonus to analyze this question properly.

It is practically impossible to fit a full rack of beam lasers on any ship in the game without putting several power grid mods on it, because, for no good reason at all, long range weapons have higher fitting requirements than short range weapons and lasers already have unreasonably high fitting requirements.

Also megapulses with scorch hit at about 60km, not 80.

Sure would make the game more fun.

1-2 Tracking Computers come standard. More like 70 on a standard fit for both PvP and PvE, most fit a Sebo for PvP and Cap Rechargers PvE but some use a Capbooster.

Both nightmare and pallie can fit a full rack of tachs without any power modules so thats 2 more than no ship in game.

To the OP apoc has bonus to range so pulse lazors , which are naturally long optimal weapons can shoot out almost to the edge of targeting range, if you add tc or te. Abaddon has no optimal so if you wanna reach further than 50 you need long range weapons.

Love that little BC.

Beams on an Apoc are overkill (range wise) and hard to fit well.

However, I would never put beams on a Aba... unless I had someone feeding me cap.

The fact is that, from a PvE perspective, the Apocalypse overshadows both the other Amarr T1 battleships and a Navy Issue Apocalypse gives the Paladin a run for its money too. I'll be interested to see how things look after tiericide has crept through the battleship fittings.

Apoc / Navy Apoc doesn't overshadow them. It in fact does the least amount of damage of the three and plenty of Lvl 4 Missions have all there NPC's in 50km Scorch Range of the other two. Ratting and Anoms the enemies are often closer. Baddon and Geddon have a DPS Bonus and the Geddons -1 Gun is off set by an extra slot for a heatsink. Navy Geddon has sentry capability as well.

Range is a good stat to have but it isn't the best except in missions where it is needed.
