Player Features and Ideas Discussion

Posting this, cause I couldn't find any answers, neither here nor in some special book.

Stating how i feel about certain subsystems, please correct me in every fail assumption I did, cause I might be lacking experience with most uncommon subs:


1. Proteus - Augmented Capacitator Reservoir (especially combined with the Drone mod)
- I see what CCP did here: A way to get an UP Ishtar! less damage, more tank, 5 times the cost! Sadly, most other subsystems don't follow the rule of generalized < specialized. this ship should be able to use a full flight of heavies or sentries, I paid a bil. goddamnit! With 5 heavies, damage at least would be less underwhelming

2. Proteus - Drone Synthesis Sub
- Just want to say, it's apparently never used for a reason. What does a drone boat, that doesn't have/capitalizes on guns need so many high slots for? Like above, + at least move one hislot down to allow the native use of a drone damage mod!

3. Legion Covert
- For use with Energy Parasitic only? So it's an oversized pilgrim without TD/Drones, but it has a big tank? [ can i haz a small drone capacity bonus at least, so it doesn't fly like an unarmed pilgrim, at least 5 hobgoblins?

4. Legion - Drone Synthesis Sub
- Like for the gallente, but 50 bandwith is a bit short if you want to use something else than EC-600 or a set of warriors imo. Whatever you might say: this is NOT a drone sub. It's a wasted slot that allows the use of some more drones. I would put it on my boostlegion to have some EC-600s, but wait, it's already cloaky...


5. Tengu - Capacitator Regeneration
- I'm missing something here: for the trade-off of -1 Launcher, you have more PG, more than two times the cap of the power core multiplier? Also: What is the supplemental Coolant meant to do, if it is so inferior to the cap regen sub? There is a huge gap from PCM to CRM, please invert and fix. What's the point of heaving 5 HAMs with the PCM, if I also need a fitting mod for my tank afterwards?

6. Proteus - Hybrid vs. Dissonic
- So I'm a proteus, and I think I have a scram. I would always use the Hybrid ofc. it's got the same or better damage output compared to dissonic cause I could trade a tracking bonus (against a target that is scrambled anyways if I'm in range) against 50m³ drone bandwidth. Blasters have very acceptable tracking nontheless, so I feel like having the choice between wrong and right once again when fitting a T3. the dissonic should have: 'Please choose the HybriSub over this one' in it's subsystem description.

7. Loki - Hardpoint efficiency configuration
- This one is absolutely puzzling me. I fly a Loki and tried to build something out of it for a long time, apparently, you can get an undertanked T3 with ~650 dps or a bit more using all weapon systems to it's fullest. However you are now shield tanked, fragile, fast - and a brawler. Fitting it with Heavies just feels wrong, even though I like the idea. 40 drone bandwidth is very nice though, but even 40 drone bandwidth, 4 HAMs and 3 Autocannons sounds like a failfit anyhow. Funny ye, useful? - I can't see it.
If it really should be a mixed weapons sub, can it pls have usable boni to it's modules? Or maybe even be the off-eapon-system, i.E. benefit drones/missiles instead of projectiles/missiles? Cause at least2 out of your 6 hislots will go to waste anyways, since I don't know how a Loki should be shield tanked for pvp without being a overprized cyna/claymore this way.

8. Loki - Amplification Node
- Is this the soloshieldsub? Or what should it be. I'm puzzled all over, sig is nice against drake blobs, but resists are better in general in my opinion. There is the armorresistsub for minnie, it even has +200 PG or so to support 1600 plateS. I neither think that a 35% reduced sig will outperform +25% shield resists on a shield tanker (probably +MWD), especially since the shieldsub got utility highs :/ Minmatar racial bonus could be considered a bonus to active shield tanking. Derp, you moved that to the tengu. Not that the legion could profit anyways with these little mid slots.

9. Tengu - Hybrid Sub
- I will not ask for a missile nerf, rather bring the Blastertengu en par to the missile tengu ON PAPER. Don't care how it flies in the end, heavy missiles are especially fine for the flight style of most tengus, but at least give the blastersub a chance to perform on the level of the accelerated ejection bay 'in theory'. current: 5% to damage, 20(!)% to range. Awesome, so my blasters are enhanced from 1xnothing to 2xnothing. Or i use null and got longrange nothing. Compared to the non-drones gallente off. sub: 10% damage, 10% Falloff, which is around the same, and 7.5% tracking. So atleast to me, Damage Projection on a proteus is ALWAYS far superior to a tengu's. At least enhance the tengu's damage by another 2.5% per level or a small 5% RoF bonus.

10. Gallente - Proteus in General
- There is Amarr (Armor), Caldari (Shield), Minmatarr (Shield/Armor), so why is there no proteus sub, that allows for a shield tank in some way. Not a dedicated shieldsub, pls no. But like for the hyperion, would be cool if one sub COULD be used to surprise your foes and mounting a acceptable shield tank. I'm sure there are ways to shield tank a proteus already, but it doesn't seem very smart. I have the feeling that there can be rainbow T3 armor blobs considering Armortengus (ECM-gu?) but a rainbowshieldblob isn't possible.
Might be absolutely unneceesary, but a sub that benefits armor tankers so indirectly that it can be used for shield tanking aswell without getting killed by your corpies would be awesome.

This or increase drone damage bonus to 15% per level ( 75% total instead of 50% ) while taking away turret bonus.
Minor enhancement for drone bay ( +25 for instance ).



It is used now ( thanks to DDAs ) and it's not that bad ( quite solid actually ).
One hislot moved to med slots and it would be good.
Increasing lowslots is a no-go for a cruiser that has 7 of those, that would be too much.
Your typical Drone Proteus can already use 3lows for damage and 4lows for tank ( while having good tank to begin with ).
