I posted this in the Dev blog but thought at page 69 it may not get read. So I made this thread to remedy that.

I like the new changes to the mining barges specifically.

I am not sure, that it will solve the crying issue in high sec though.

I would suggest to not change the current security status levels. Anyone can get ganked in 1.0 just as easy as in 0.5 atm which seems fair to me.

Why even post or whine when you get ganked, there are three things you could have done.

Don't mine AFK
Check local and d-scan
Don't mine AFK

The current CONCORD system is fine. CONCORD has always been reactionary and is not actually a police force. It is also not real life so they will not arrest you if you look suspicious.

The whole point of low-sec is that while it is still 'Empire', it is not CONCORD protected space.

Null sec....well stays null sec.

The potential for people quitting the game if sweeping changes are made to the system will go up dramatically.

The carebears wont quit because they will be sitting in an NPC corp and will be invincible in their 1.0 systems, but I am sure everybody else will quit because it really won't be EVE anymore.

The whole Risk v Reward idea is that earning ISK is inherently dangerous. If High Sec was truly safe, then surely there would be little to no ISK to be made there.

This is not real life, so once again any injection of real life morals, or how the PO LICE work/respond in real life, are not applicable in Internet Spaceships.

We could also perhaps include a tube of KY Lube with each mining barge to ease some of the pain of their impending violation. Pirate

There's nothing about changing security levels, so your post is pretty much useless.

Two aspects people tend to overlook.

I know alot of PVP'ers who actually have an industrial alt. While roaming or sitting in a CTA what ever, while they were mining on the side line with an alt, as:

1. it would provide a small exstra income to supply them with the ship used for their PVP
2. it was something you didnt have to concentrate to much about and pay to much attension to. Some mine when watch a movie or making dinner.

Now going into my 5th year in EVE, i know alot of people and the major part of those are PVP'ers. Those who ***** the most about hulk ganking in high sec, tend to be those sat PVP'ers who have their carebare alts, doing their "AFK" mining while fighting on another toon.

Those are the ones with the main tears as it hurt their main income for PVP. Those who are engineers and miners i hardly ever hear complain, they are active while mining and really effective as they main goal in game it so get dusty ships and mine as much as they can within a surden time, not being on a roam or sitting in a CTA. If they lose a hulk they build a new one.

The funniest part are then those i know ganking hulks in high for the lols and then a month later ***** and complain because their alt just go ganked and they lost a hulk.

I look forward for the winter change, where there will be a posibility to see people active while watching a movie again or cooking dinner, and even though only half there still active and a part of your community.

In the past you often saw people log in to "afk" mine but still being around. Its ment you alliance / corp had more people online, and those people tend catch up on upcomming operations or actually be there when something happens.

Today you see alot and special the main PVP'ers log on, asking if anything is going on, if not they log of. I the past you saw them log on ask if anything was going on, if not pulling out the mining alt and do something else while mining a waiting for and fleet to be up.

The is the overall picture i have not just from my corp or alliance, but over all from alot of those i talk with.

Miners could even consider not mining afk AND tanking a lower yield ship when the new ones arrive, imagine that, actually playing the game AND not being a flying pinata...

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

What's the point of this redundant post again? Honestly, these holier than thou, I'm-going-to-teach-you-something, posts are a dime a dozen. There are way more of these threads than there are crying posts going on. So why don't you do like the most of people and make fun of the op tears and move on.
