Embargo Option for Market

When you put something on the market, have the ability to deny certain entities (people/Corps/alliances) from purchasing your product. Take it a step further and allow variable pricing structure. Allow entities you like or want to help, buy your product at a reduced rate.

Its a very real tool in RL to counter aggressive entities, would be awesome to see how it shapes politics here. This could be very interesting when alliances **** of the wrong carebears with their emergent strategies.

No. People can just buy with alts anyways.

Not a forum alt.

It would make the market inefficient, and that would leave Dr. EyjoG sad and unhappy (and without funding…) P

There isnt any particular entity I myself would want to use this on, but it does seem like it could be a decent market addition imo

doubt it even takes that, who's going to blacklist an npc corp? that every character is in the day the character is created...

In Perpetuum there was an option to sell on the market to corp members. I think EVE could do something like that but instead of just corp/allies, make it standings based. Add a small tax to the transaction to pay off or hire your own clerks, whatever fits story wise, and then those items wouldn't even show on the market for those not in the loop. Or even take it a step further and have a neutral/positive standing price and then a negative standing price.

No. ...but I think this is a really interesting idea. I think it would be pretty sweet to have that as an option. It would give indy corps more political power and would add to the depth of the game. You might suggest thins in F&I discussion.

After they implement this why not just ban neutral alts too? Stupid ideas for the win.

Honestly, I'm far too lazy to set up an embargo on that one dude that ganked me while my pants were down.

BLASTED ALTS! True this is a workaround. But also true you could just add Neutrals to your embargo list, not that would be great for business.

The problem with that would be figuring out who the alts of the people you don't like are. Simply no way around it.

"Hey, Doc, how's that awox operation going? Kill anything expensive?"

"Well, I was going to tackle a freighter, but then I looked at the market and noticed they were selling Guidance Systems at below-cost prices. So I got in contact with the other market traders, and now I'm buying 50 billion isk worth on their behalf, and shipping it out to VFK."

"So you're not going to kill anything?"

"Of course I am! I'm just waiting for my last red frog load to dock up before I kill this obelisk."

The idea is great but unfortunately the ability to have alts makes the idea as useful as bounty hunting is now. Even if you found out who the neutral alt is it would take all of five minutes for them to make another one to circumvent your embargo. and as stated, blacklisting the npc corps to stop one man would just end up being bad for business.

I have an alt in a smallish nullsec alliance primarily for the purpose of gaining access to their special pricing on T2 ships. In other words, intracorp markets already exist. These guys work on a just-in-time basis...I order a ship, it's manufactured and delivered within a day, at a significant discount from the market price.

Not to derail the topic but that monocle on your avatar makes her look like she had to be told a second time by her boyfriend.
