Looking for some advice and direction

Hi everyone

Been playing this account on and off for the last 4-5 years, i'm back after a 2 year break with some friends and after logging in and seeing i have 4 neural remaps and 1.2 mil SP from the learning skills to dish out i thought i might aswell come and get some expert advice!

I used to run lvl 4's in a domi and do the odd bit of low sec PVP in whatever ship i had in my hangar at the time, but i've mainly played the game solo so have missed out on huge chunks of it. Now that i have a group of 5 of us i can be a bit more ambitious. i'll be looking to get into a lot more pvp with them so any reccomendations for that would be great (first thing i did when i started was go straight for interceptors as i was going to join a friends alliance and they wanted tacklers!)

After spending the last few days reading the forums i'd like to end up doing is low/null sec exploration, have barely touched it any other time i've played. Based on my drone skills it seems like an ishtar wouldn't be a bad bet for something like that?

Anyway here is my Character sheet , any reccomendations based on the above (or glaring ommisions!) would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

One thing I would suggest would be to work on fitting and capacitor skills.

Engineering
Energy Grid Upgrades
Energy Systems Operation
Energy Management
Propulsion Jamming for Webbing and scrambling tagets.

Electronics
Electronic Upgrades
Signature Analysis - For faster locking

After these are done have a look below =)

Tanking skills either Shield and/or Armor depending upon what you and your friends want to fly / what your friends alliance wants you to fly.

Gunnery wise look into getting the T2 variants of the guns you have trained up already as that won't take long. Look into these gunnery support skills though:

Motion Prediction
Rapid firing
Weapon Upgrades
Advanced Weapon Upgrades
Trajectory Analysis
Surgical Strike
Sharpshooter
Controlled Bursts

I know that you have some leveled to different levels. All of these increase the damage you do with guns so are well worth looking into (apart from weapon upgrades and advanced weapon upgrades, these just make turrents use less CPU).

Missiles train if you feel you want to. From what I can gather these are better for PvE rather than PvP due to the flight time involved. Please feel free to correct me on this though.

A really good idea (if you haven't already) is to download EveMon. It allows you to set skill plans and also see what training different skills will offer you.

I hope you find this useful and sorry that it is such a wall of text.

I'll add that you should probably get your armor compensation skills up to atleast 4 if you plan on using an armor tank.
Also for PvP you'll want thermodynamics trained up too.

Edit: Also you might want to get armor rigging trained.

You've got some pretty massive deficiencies there, but nothing specifically deterring you from running mission dominix. However your pvp skill set is hugely lacking.

- No shield skills whatsoever (not even shield management...)
- Also missing EWar drone interfacing, gives nice drone control range bonus
- Missing electronics/engineering V, every combat pilot should have those
- Thermodynamics.
- You have small/medium/large guns trained to V.... but none of the T2 gun skills even injected
- Missing Trajectory Analysis
- Missing armor & hybrid rigging skills
- navigation skills in general need work
- fitting skills need serious help. See core fitting certificate.
- armor compensation skills
- no trade skills whatsoever (do you have an alt that does your trading for you? Or do you really just sell everything to buy orders...)
- lots of skills stuck at level 1: if you inject a skill, train it to III minimum, IV preferred.

The only ship you're really qualified to fly is a dominix. Literally any other ship has serious deficiencies.

You've spent an awful lot of time training a number of very expensive skills to V (large guns, drone interfacing, sentry drones)... but you haven't trained quite a number of simple, fast skills which back them up. A little work with Evemon is in order.

Thanks for the replies guys

Yeah ryelek, the problem was is that when i used to play it was either afk running missions and then just messing around in cheapo firgates and cruisers in pvp and not really caring! Was still good fun, but as you say, hugely lacking. I did have a trading alt but haven't resubbed him yet so i might just spend a day or 2 getting some skills here

I spent the million free points i had getting to engi/elec V, armor compensation skills up to 3, EWar drones, core fitting to standard and some navigation skills. I've set a plan up in evemon to try and get myself up to scratch!

Thanks again

Nice, clean & focused. Keep going along this path. Core competencies, Gunnery support skills & Armor skills for Gallente seem quite reasonable goals.

Thoughts: Drone Durability IV, Combat Drone Operation IV, & Electronic Warfare Drone Interfacing IV for Gallente might be things to look at too.
