Right..... there definitely weren't any counters that ROFL stomped this setup. It's good but it definitely has a couple counters.

fielding two claymores in the same setup is not good ;p
also that's way too many points

I hear that sometimes even fielding one Claymore is not good either.

As a newbie to EVE, I was excited to see the tornament being advertised. Then got to see some replays. Why the **** bother... Might as well call it Alliance Match Fixing - no skills needed.

Deals in local during the matches, deals made before the matches.. pfft what a waste and CPP should be embarrassed.

Very very few matches were obviously fixes so far. Most of the matches are just terrible pilots.

Its true , half the alliances in the tourny are beyond scrubtastic.

Its still funny to me that people have not relized that the alliance tourny is just an Epeen stroking contest. And those of you crying about metagaming , Congrats you ******* retards This is EvE. If you cant take the metagaming then shut the **** up and sit on the side lines like a good little scrub.

Hail Satan.

I was outraged to discover that this so called tournament was not based solely on player piloting skill in the streamed matches but actually based on work done before the match with EFT, testing on SISI, looking at killmails of previous matches, designing setups, finding counters, spying on other alliances and other metagaming skills.

I was expecting something more akin to the eurovision song contest where the outcome is decided based purely on the quality of singing on the night and not at all fixed based on regional politics or comedy acts.

CCP is literally ******.

Also, damn this thread just continues to get worse.

Don't be so quick to dismiss this. It's entirely possible that we have actually found the most stupid person that walks the earth. Not just somebody we can all agree is great at trolling, or perhaps simply doesn't know much, but the person that walks upon the surface of the planet with the least capacity for engaging in any rational thought with an unprecedented ability of avoiding learning anything that might be useful to a person.

Sadly this is where CCP hires their neXtgEn dEvS from. Ouchiees.

I don't know, I think the dudes who formed a colluding corp on sisi after being told not to are up there on the stupid list. You heard about those guys? Gee willickers, that's some enriched and weaponized level stupid. Sure glad I'm not in that alliance.

Well, see you in the group stages champ. Fly safe.

Yes mate, a test server collusion corp. Formed to facilitate CoLlUsIoN, impossible to do as separate corps. Good thing they had such compelling evidence of our intentions. :cripes:

Not sure which universe you live in, but this never happened.

I'd tell you to look at how stupid you are but I don't think you're capable.

To be fair looking at oneself without the use of a light-reflecting surface is an acrobatic maneuver most people aren't able to perform.

i like the part with the dozen identical minmatar teams and the part where alliances buy their ranking/progression in the tournament rather than actually earning it through ability/skill

Having a team just stop towards the end and start bartering with another team to allow them to finesse the points system to muck with the progression defeats the entire point of a tournament imo.

As for the people who keep trying to drive home the point that meta-gaming is a part of eve and therefor makes sense to be allowed in the tournament...

pssst, look at last years tournament. The two best teams in the tournament - at both raw pilot ability AND at meta-gaming - were hit with a bloody banhammer.

I somehow doubt all these "b b but the meta-game!" people would be happy if hydra/outbreak had been allowed in the tournament and allowed to repeat last years shenanigans.

My bad if this has been mentioned before but, I'm sick and tired of seeing all of these Claymores. I know it's down to points and what works best, but this is just boring seeing the same thing match after match. Can we all agree to stop bringing Claymores to the party?

I dunno, I'm fairly sure the group of people, let's call them "99.975% of CCP's customers" who are preapred to accept anything CCP Sreegs says even in the deliberate absence of any evidence are spectacularly gifted. Certainly more gifted than the people who read the rules and complied with each and every one of them, while simultaneously and vigourously seeking clarification on the great many ambiguous ones, only to discover that they had been singled out to receive not just no answers, but actually misleading answers from CCP GMs.

So you tell me, who is the most gifted? Those who are struck blind maliciously, or those who choose to be blind willingly?

99.75% of CCP's customers didn't issue a public FU to the Alliance Tournament team at the final of a 4 week long event, when things didn't go to plan and Hydra were going to lose.

Yes it was meta gaming but unsubtle in the extreme and clearly it annoyed the Alliance Tournament team (who are a subset of CCP). Anyone paying attention could see they were going to try to reduce this in the next AT and oh look, the no b-teams rule (100% designed to remove such teams from of the tournament if given any excuse at all).

At this point you'll jump up and down and wave the GM response about joining the same corp for testing being permitted, but hydra are not noobs, they know full well that only a response from the Alliance Tournament team would have been a green light. While "seeking clarification" hydra had the option to keep teams separate but chose to join the same corp anyway, giving the Alliance Tournament team all the excuse they needed to get revenge on the fixed final. How any logical person could think that being in the same corp wouldn't be seen as joint team is completely blind.

Hydra walked right into it, the Alliance Tournament team won in the end.

The behaviour of the GMs/Tournybum team was pathetic to begin with. Giving them wrong information, purposefully refusing to reply to their questions, etc. Felt an awful lot like they were setting them up for a "GOTCHA" moment rather than actually ensuring the best tournament possible.
