Tales from a C4 Wormhole

So we were puttering along in a C4 wormhole doing some anomalies with more people than we usually do: 3 ravens, a rokh, a rook, and a basilisk. The WH had 18 anomalies, we were blah blahing and all that lovely jazz.

All of a sudden, a Proteus uncloaks 6km from my Rook. Oh no, I said, and tried to squad warp us out. My Rook made it out as the Onyx landed, but the proteus had warp scrambled our Basilisk pilot and the battleships were much too slow. The bubble emerged.

Being in control of both the Rook and the Basilisk, I was able to call targets. "All damage on the Proteus!" I cried, throwing the Basilisk's emergency ec-300 jammer drones on the Proteus. By now, 4 Tengus had landed about 70km from us, and were putting significant hurt on the Basilisk. As my cap began to ran dry, I noticed I was 26 KM from my cap buddy Raven (no longer orbiting because of the warp I had tried to do).

"ALL RAVENS APPROACH THE BASILISK, I'm moving to orbit the closest of you for cap and shield love!" With 86% structure I came into range of one of my Ravens and saw a tiny sliver of health return. Returning my attention to my compatriots, I repaired the paltry amount of damage coming from the sleepers, and warped the Rook back in. The Proteus by now was hurting, 50-60% armor and stuck in his Onyx's bubble. I jammed him, and two of his Tengu friends (the Proteus with the wrong Jammer, of course). By pure luck, my non-racial jammer stuck on the Tengu I had to use it on. Incoming damage dropped drastically, and everyone began to even out; "Proteus down!" "All damage on the Onyx" "Onyx Down!"

All damage on the... where'd the Tengus go? "GF them in local!" One Tengu remained on the field, and he was doing a LOT of damage to my Rook who was well out of range of Basilisk support. So I warped off, because for some reason he never approached me.

Good fight random persons, and i look forward to getting 8/11 faction drops from your next scout!

P.S. And we finished that site.

Theres something satisfying about a PVE fleet turning the tables on would be attackers :D

But please don't use battleclinic :( they couldn't have made the information much harder to take in at a glance if they tried.

Haha sure, thanks for the eve kill link.

[edit]: For any of the curious, we are VERY aware how lucky we got. It was lucky that the Rook warped out so it could warp back at range, it was lucky the Basi got scrammed so the Battleships weren't alone, it was lucky that we got in range to rep the Basi with 89% structure remaining, and it was lucky that somebody kept shooting the Proteus despite an early target switch call, so we had significant damage on him when we went back. It was lucky they brought an Onyx so we could pin down their cloaky tackle for sweet faction loots. Yeah, apparently my anniversary is a good day for EVE, although my wife disagreed :p

Congrats on the win! Always good to see fellow PvE'ers turn the tables like this. Thanks for sharing.

We don't always PVE, but when we do, we kill the highest ehp ships on the field first apparently.

We've trained you well. Brings a tear to my eye.

good job on the turnabout, and there is no better irony than turning an enemy's interdiction bubble against them.

With an escort, especially if you are checking for K162s. Unless its the other side from your own. Then, they should totally not protect it at all. Twisted
