why are these scraps worth soo much. with a refine value of 2500 trit, the 90k price tag is a little excessive.

whats the deal with them?

Anything that can be salvaged into more minerals than the space it takes up is valuable. Some of the drone poos used to be worth a fair amount. It makes sense when you're hauling minerals to build a carrier or the like in a remote place....

Metal Scraps and Reinforced Metal Scraps are only worth a lot nowadays because they have the highest compression-rates for pure Tritanium. They used to be lousy, though, back when they took up 5m3/Scrap. I think the highest price you could sell them for was about 100 ISK, now it's about ten times as much for the regular Metal Scraps, a whole lot more for the Reinforced variety.

CCP should implement us a way to reinforce our own scrap...
