The new mining barge expansion.

Was really looking forward to this. But after thinking about how bad unified inventory turned out as well as the LP in faction warfare. Well it was those thoughts as well as the new ore holds that don't expand at all. Sure this is mostly paranoia and we shall just see how good it is after it's implementation with little to no oversight.

But what really got me is this. Us miners could have always added more armor to our ships, or shrunk bays for more ore delivery, but we never chose to. It sucks a whole lot. Even more then mining, it sucks. Lots of players have been telling and cajoling us to do this, but we have always resisted doing it.

So what I really worry about, is now CCP is just gonna force us to. Now we do have to sacrifice ore input for armor, or we have to sacrifice cargo hold for nothing. After fighting trolls for so long, CCP is just gonna doomsday our mining barges and force us to be twinks instead of miners.

Seems like the mittani and the goons have finally won. If the goons don't blow ya up, CCP will come in and make your life a hell for avoiding their missles and bullets.

Suppose we should have seen it, with CCP always wanting us to be real men, but I just never paid enough attention, while mining bored.

What's bad about unified inventory? I like it. A lot.

Edit: and lazily, I didn't read your whole post. Did you really have to throw Goon blame in there too?

That boogeyman's been beaten to death. Kill the Goons if you don't like em. Shoot em in the face.

It's just business.

There's nothing saying that the Hulk will mine less. You will now have the choice between common Hulk fittings, and you won't have to strain your brains to figure out how to fit them, you'll just have to stretch your wallet a bit to have one of each.

And yeah, miner's whining biting them in the butt when it's listened to. Who would have thunk (I hear echoes of the insurance nerf).

Wasn't meaning to troll, plus it sounds like most of the "constructive" posts come from people who don't mine. So consider me satisfied with how well this will turn out.

(Also sorry for so much taboo in that post, forgot about that all)

So, if you weren't meaning to troll, explain to me exactly how buffing all the mining ships other than the Hulk hurts miners?

What is wrong with trading gank (yield) for tank... its what every other capsuleer has to do... what makes us miners so special...

Tank your barge and deal with the yield cut or go for max yield and get used to the pod express...

The changes to mining ships is the fault of whining miners... not Mittens or the Goons...

...
WTF did I just feed the troll and defend the Goons in the same post... going straight to hell, not passing Go....

There is no such thing as a fair fight...

If your fighting fair you have automatically put yourself at a disadvantage.

Well at the beginning it did say they would raise output, but then later compared barges to each other, and it kind of made the other non hulk barges sound pretty bad.

Its like the frigate sounds cool, but once you see how much ore is in station afterwards, you will want to quit. The other barges are like that. That is why no real miners, liked putting tanks on their barges. You get the want to quit feeling when you see so little ore when you dock. The skiff and cov and stuff will be cool, as long as you don't mine and dock in them.

Best way I can put it is highly expensive pvp. Where its still fun, but once you see the bill, you want to quit.

Vote with your wallet. Its all they seem to listen to lol

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

^ But they are european. Sure they need money to buy beer, so you would think that would work, or their economies would improve. But nope. They are poor, but still have beer. I don't know what weapon would work on CCP.

So did you skip right over the yield buff the other barges will get, or are you complaining that you're going to be given the choice to sacrifice some yield for tank or cargo without having to strain your fitting muscles?

The patch is not because you miners are hated / loved or because Goons are doing Hulkageddons.

CCP are performing a vast revolution in their ship hulls roles so that every hull is actually flied by somebody.

So far Hulk and Macks were the only mining ships really used. After the patch you'll have alternatives with good and bad points.

Your choice whether to fit all glass cannon for max yield and die easy or fit for AFK or fit for tank.

I bet all will fit for glass cannon of course and then will come cry on the forums when they'll get popped. Twisted

Be fair, I'm sure the Skiff gets the occasional use (Merxocrit Uber Alles). And don't forget the Retriever for the newbies. I think 4/6 is a better ratio than current T1 frigs have, but I cba to check.

I am certainly looking forward to telling the whinging miners to Learn 2 Skiff/Procurer when their Hulks go pop, too.

^ I will be doing that, that glass cannon stuff.

Yeah they get buffed, but I suppose the best thing is their price. It will be cheaper to die in those other ships. Only reason to fly one IMO. Once it goes live, you can get output to cost of ship, plus likely of getting ganked.

I mean you could always sacrifice ore input for armor on hulk, then it would be the new skiff or so. But it costs alot to lose a hulk made that way.

They're probably going to jiggle the material inputs as well. That seems to be what they do when they buff things (though these are [I think] the first T2 ships they've fiddled with, so who knows).
