lol wow u guys are idiots, you realize that the broadsword's technically should have won, it wasn't fixed you idiots... 500 dps per broadsword + 280 per harpy = 2340 dps of damage... at frigate/cruiser sig radius, with ~800 dps of ancil tank...

Do the numbers, as long as the first vindi's tank was gone by the time the first 2 broadswords died and they didn't loose there harpys, the match was theres... had they lost transcom's harpy they would have had major issues....

The comentators seemed to miss the part where the first vindi's entire shield was gone, on a ANCIL tanked vindi at the start of that match, before the second broadsword died... they were too busy bitching about the fit to realize when the first vindi's tank melted.

Everyone keeps saying that the vindi wasn't shooting, HE WAS CAPPED OUT trying to get some range on the ships so he could hit them, even with a single vindi web a broadsword/harpy at 50m is not going to hit **** for real damage...

People seem to forget that galante ships are very cap sensitive for those big guns, and without a cap booster because it was an ancil fit, there was just a wait and pray for the pilot to be able to get a shot off.

And due to low cap he was trying to alpha transcom's harpy to kill off 280dps of gank.... unfortunately he missed the 3 shots he got off...

Also he was out of cap boosters if you check the loss mail, so guess what no more Ancil Booster for him.

Vindicators are still very much Windicators.

Its just the level of win is inversely proportional to the pilots failure. Part of our AT calculations were based upon distilling that Faliure Critical Mass down via a series of maddeningly complex equations, weaving ever decreasing circles of badness, to one pilot.

A man who could be called upon with the certain knowledge that faliure would ensure. He ctrl spaced in the first match and died. he burned his guns in the second and we all died.

The man, the myth, Snake O'verheater.

did he really finally burn them out? he was pot shotting at transcom towards the end there... i figured it was a cap issue, considering the long MWD burn

After watching this match on you tube I was concerned that the commentators suggested that match fixing at this stage of the tournament is ok?

This match was by far a more conclusive case of colluding then the indicators used against us pre-tournament.

Would the ATX team care to comment?

>implying we'd be competent enough to actually fix a match. If you and hydra couldn't manage it there is no way we could.

Fact of the matter is, the vindicator's guns burned out. It'll be there in the logs plain as day.

A surprise result, sure, but fearless are ******* horrible at spaceships anyway. And it is frankly insulting to the talented spacewarriors of Nulli Secunda to suggest that the match was thrown.

I suggest you to stop this.

For Scorps this is just one of the cases the first one was with test and it was tolerated, and ofc if everyone saw that happening they would apply to it. So giving fearless as an example not quite accurate as it seems.

My question would be put this way: Why the referee accepted TEST buying their way through in a competition where skills and tactis has the only saying ?

The should have been banned like OB and Hydra was.

NOTE: Rules apply the same regardless of the team.

Because Metagaming is a skill like any other.

The issue is when metagame is used to harrass the viewers rather than to advance your own cause.

CCP said that match fixing was fine to a degree, but building it up and manipulating the entire tournament just to ruin it would not be tolerated.

tl;dr Match fixing is fine, tournament fixing is not.

And what did Ob and Hydra did ? They fixed the match. A match. One match. Care to explain me how 2 teams of 64 could have manipulated the tournament? Please do care to explain i am intrigued by your logic.

Beating every other team in the tournament and winning every single match on both sides of the Tournament brackets are clearly against the rules and the spirit of competition!!
Throwing matches to a team that brings HICs to the alliance tournament is the top level competitive play CCP has in mind.

I'm going to crosspost this from Failheap, edited slightly for profanity:

CCP can do what they want, it's their right. Snake burnt out most of his rack and that's the end of it. The screenshot he posted was a shopped screencap of his wallet on SISI. Amazed so many people fell for it.

My first duty is to my team and advancing us. If I, or one of my peers gets a chance to spy on someone then I'll take all the info I can get. Deal with it, you should have practiced somewhere more secure or practiced multiple varying setups (we did, mostly).

My second duty is to my wallet. The AT is expensive business (especially with the reduction in rewards this year, nothing for 3rd and 4th, wtf CCP?). If we had gotten Nulli down to one frig or were otherwise were in a position of power, I would have happily offered to give them more points for ISK while retaining the win. And I will do it in the group stages if the opportunity presents itself (this will probably only be viable on the second and third days IF we perform well and depending on who presents the opportunity), however I have no intention of taking a dive for ISK and if I find out anyone on my team does I will drive to their house and poo on their mother (in game).

Way down the list is providing an entertaining match (although I'd say that watching two Vindis lose to a team of HICs and Harpies is pretty entertaining, and certainly a lot more so than watching some of the failfleets on display over the qualifiers get rolled was).

lol, who'd have though Nulli would write their own match report? for the record my quote went on to explain that we lost because the vindi's guns burned out and didn't mention anything about the harpys posing a threat to the vindis.

Weirdly that's the second very partisan match report the ISD have produced. It would appear our tiny alliance is a victim of the tabloid press. :D
