hello everyone,

this goes primarily towards ISN but also anyone else who has lots of experience. since OTAs are getting nerfed in a few months, i was considering taking a look at incursions. as the nightmare is the most badass ship in eve (or any other game, really), i'd like to see a few moderately pimped vanguard fits. my budget would be 2-2.5 bil. also, as a side question: are faction guns an option or are T2 crystals mandatory?

thank you in advance.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Can't really suggest a fit for a ship I've never flown, but if you're going for pulses, T2 is a must. Scorch is one of the few outstanding qualities of what would otherwise be a mundane turret type. If you're looking to use tachs, then you shouldn't really worry about T2. To the best of my knowledge, the T2 beam ammo is rather lackluster and better replaced by faction crystals.

t2 tachyons will do more dps than faction tachyons. they do however use more cap, and a bit more cpu, both use the same pg. other than that can't really help haven't done incursions.

Why would you want factoin guns? Nightmare has masses of PG and CPU, and T2 does more damage

Copine Callmeknau disappeared one day now we are left with Taurich Vorsel AKA BIZARRO COPE!

For Vgs never use Beam lasers, there extensive optimal is useless and their tracking is bad, Pulse > Beam in vanguard. (in assault/hq beams are used for sniping roles)

Anyway heres a good solid fit for VGs
[Nightmare, PvE- Vanguards]
Damage Control II - swap out for another TE if you upgrade to Caldari Navy Invuls.
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Tracking Enhancer II

Large Shield Extender II
EM Ward Field II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II - Upgrade to Caldari Navy Invuls when you can.
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II - Upgrade to Caldari Navy Invuls when you can.
Thermic Dissipation Field II
Tracking Computer II, Tracking Speed Script
Republic Fleet Target Painter

Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L - better tracking + damage, dont use beams for vanguards.
Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L
Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L
Mega Pulse Laser II, Scorch L
Large Energy Transfer Array II *
Large Shield Transporter II *
* Having these 2 utility modules makes you a fantastic ship to have in fleet, if a logi gets jammed or loses cap chain, you can help out - if they just have trouble repping, listen to comms and watch watch list and broadcast and help out where you can.

Large Energy Metastasis Adjuster I
Large Energy Metastasis Adjuster I
Large Energy Metastasis Adjuster I - Whilst unusual rigs to use they help tracking alot, and tracking is the big limiter on damage output for any battleship using turrets.

Hammerhead II x5
Hobgoblin II x5

111k EHP 72% lowest resist
930 DPS
7min cap life

This setups main advantage over most other ships is the fact it has BC levels of tracking on BS guns.
