Seeing as how the death of a few miners hasn't really affected mineral prices all that much, whereas the removal of drone goo and T1 loot drops made the prices double… yes. Killing miners had nothing to do with it.

In fact, it was their irrelevance that was the entire problem and what made it necessary to remove the goo and drops.

At least it beats L3 missions now as something to do in highsec.

It might leave the question of skill investment, but on the other hand, there's the matter of effort required…

The facts have a strong anti-hisec miner bias

Mining sure as heck beats anything that requires attention and thinking when it comes to being productive while drunk/tired/rocking baby to sleep.

I used to love the whoosh sounds of ice harvesting too. But that got changed, because apparently mesmerising lasers with hypnotic whooshing sounds was overpowered.

Aw... I expected this to be a whine about how CCP is "nerfing the endgame" or something.

The disappointment... it burns.

God, I remember when Diagoras was tweeting about how much mining activity had dropped off. Apparently , though, there was never any reason to ever do Hulkageddon as a resource diverting mechanism, but rather to just grief a whole lot of people under false pretense. Good to know. Smile

keep up the good work everyone, killing miners ftw

You seriously don´t have a clue how massive the mineral supply from Russian drone regions were. It was absolutely ******* gigantic.

am i the only one that thinks the increased mineral prices are duo to BOTH drone nerf and miners ganking thingy?

I actually think those aren't the only 2 factors in this case.

Well, look at it this way:

Before their first attempt at trying to balance the mineral influx from done goo and loot, mining was the source of ~45% of the game's trianium, megacyte and zydrine; ~30% of the game's mexallon and pyerite; and ~20% of the game's isogen and nocxium.

Now that those competing sources have, by and large, been removed rather than just feebly adjusted, a mere doubling of the price of items that require a fsckton of trit, mex, and pye seems like a surprisingly small increase… It's seems rather obvious that miners are stepping up their production, in spite of HG∞ and the like.

ITT: OP gets a lesson on basic economics.

Killing miners increased the price of trit (Which has a relationship to all other mineral prices) no more than ~.5 isk and of veldy, no more than ~1.5 isk.

Drone goo elimination, had ~1-1.5 isk effect on trit, and ~3-4.5 on veldy.

Yes, killing miners has an effect, but the main effect was the inability to get huge stocks of veldy by killing drone rats in nullsec. In effect, the return of Veldy to supremacy.

You don't buy minerals to build a Titan, as much as not sell them, if you see what I mean. So I doubt the price of minerals really makes a huge difference to the number of Titans that get built. The equation isn't usually "shall I sell these minerals or build a Titan", it's "I want a Titan"!

And yet Tritanium is creeping up so slowly in contrast to Pyerite. Mexallon is continuing its steady climb (Mexallon futures are the future!).

There's more to the story than where the minerals are sourced. Isogen is still recovering from the previous manipulation attempt.

People forgot how T1 mods don't drop in missions anymore as well. That makes mineral prices go up too. Also alot of wars lately, which means more consuming of minerals, driving prices higher as well.

Im actually glad titan is more expensive to build. Theres too damn many of them in game allready. Cool

If you remember CCP tought of handfull of titans and what players actually did... I think its step to right direction, Titan should not be everyones favorite i win button thats gets throw arround lightly.
