Cant decide on these 2 fits for sleipnir!!

Ok, So been in a c3 wh for awhile now, usually do the sites pretty easy with 2 others. I fly this

sleipnir
7x 425 II's

2x Invul 2's
1x Gist X-type large shield booster
1x Caldari Navy shield boost amp
1x Random afterburner I found

1x Tracking enhancer II
4x Republic fleet gyro's

2x Cap control circuit II's

Using barrarge I get 30km falloff, but my dps from turrets is around 566. With faction ammo I get 710dps from turrets but falloff is 20km and I usually roll around 10km from things. ( yes im to lazy get my drones out )

Anyway, this set up has been fine, can tank pretty decent, only really need a warp out of some hard sites if there is 2 of us and I get cap drained. Only downside is, I eat ammo, and I have to burn my way to things constantly to output decent damage and that itself lowers my dps.


Now I was playing around with my sett up for arti cannons and I came up with 2 settups ( using same mods unless stated )

Settup 1

7x 650 arti cannon II's

turret DPS goes to 492, falloff goes to 38.5 using faction ammo ( compared to 20 ) and 40 bullets!


Settup 2

7x720 Howitzer Arti II's

Replace 1xRepublic fleet gyro with power diagnostic 2
Replace 1xafterburner with cap recharger 2

This sett up enables me to be cap stable, ( not like I need it ) And with faction ammo, I get 507dps and 38k falloff but only holds 20 ammo


Now range is same on both, Dps is less than 20 point different, the 2 big factors are

1) 20 vs 40 bullets / 10 sec reload time
2) cap stable vs no cap stable / can be lazy and just keep it running and lower warp off chance with 2 of us
3) afterburner vs no afterburner. sometimes they are around 50km away.

now 650's look better to me, but well 720s also have there bonus..

Can anyone else give me some input on this?

If your going to use Arty... use the loki with the web and tracking sub-systems :D nothing like insta popping frigs.

Put a touch extra time into your eng skills and change those booster/amps out for T2. Does pretty damn close to same boost for a lot less gank loss.

I have + 5 in my engi skills, T2 versions suck. Why would I switch out my faction mods for rubbish T2 mods?

Because the T2's tank all those sites solo (Apart from the scram radar/mag last wave) for over 500M less?

maybe so, but whats the point in having load of isk if you don't buy shiny expensive modules with it?

I thank you for your concern but I'm not short of isk and I like to be able to shoot triggers and still sit there loling

I'm more interested in my gun modules?

Fair point and i too have way too much isk but i prefer to bling out my PVP ships rather than my PVE ships. Personal preference perhaps.

I also sit there LOLing but the tengu makes that even easier to achieve. I would suggest if you have as much ISK as most of us, do what we do. Buy a basic tengu toon for all your PVE needs.

Please overtank everyone of your ships with complex modules, 4 gyros is a stacking penalty field day and dont scoff when you ask for fitting advice and someone gives you a ship fitting with the same efficiency but significantly less cost Roll

Roll on you getting ganked and ragequitting on the forums about it.

are you stupid? my fitting advice is for my guns, ive got like 4 more identical fitted ships in various places. your just being a douche. I want gun advice not freaking ooo change your other stuff.. my tanks fine, its not over kill at all, espesh if I wana solo a site now and again. you sir suck

if i were you i'd probably run the AC setup but with 3 gyros and 2 tracking enhancers. as for the tank, whatever floats your boat. it's not like 500mil are hard to earn when you're grinding up sleepers in a sleipnir.


edit: also, tengu. a pith a small setup will handle most C3 and you can still slap on a medium if it doesn't.

I should buy an Ishtar.

AC Sleip works best if you'r solo, especially in a Black Hole system.
Arty wouldn't let you hit anything small, orbiting close.

This was my daily experience in C2 W-space.
I guess its also valid for C3.

I shall try out with 2x gyros I was enjoying sitting at range tbh, sleepers gave up targeting me lol
