0.5 mayhap?

This makes me quite upset on numerous levels. Mostly because the miner:

A. had enough tank to survive the gank attempt
B. presumably had some time for the shields to regen
C. DIDN'T HAVE ANY ******* DRONES

Yep, this was in a 0.5. He was well tanked for a Mack. 2x shield extenders, Invul, and field extender rigs. Main issue with the failure of the gank was that we landed far away and he was moving.

And this is why you don't afk mine.

OP: We congratulate you on your recent acquisition of so many mining barge and exhumer blueprints for your industry & mining alts. The production of more mining ships is always welcome amongst the EvE community and those, such as yourselves, who so graciously labor away to produce & sell these barges are always much appreciated. You aggressive and, I dare so, colorful method of boosting the sales of your company's mining ship products has obviously been very successful. Even if it is simply copied from Goonswarm's own barge sales marketing campaign, you have managed to breathe a new sense of originality into what had become a rather tired marketing trope.

So by all means carry on! I, for one, look forward to learning how your push to swing the Mackinaw market in favor of your own Skiff outlet pans out. Variety is good.

P.S. - We also admire the strength of your convictions, even if it is the wrong faith; you're still higher in our book than the rest of these heathens.

If I where a smarter and more industrious type, I'd do exactly what you described above. However, I am a simple man who merely enjoys watching things blow up in a hilarious fashion.

I can completely agree that our actions have, as an unintended consequence, directly benefited miners and industrialists alike. Hopefully they have lined the pockets of the smarter miners in Eve who don't AFK about like giant space pinatas.

If you enjoy the rate at which mineral and ship prices are increasing, feel free to donate to our cause if you feel so inclined. Building Catalysts with stolen ore is fun and all, but it's much easier to just buy them off the market :)

If your goal is to disrupt operation in Minmatar space and not Ammatar space, we might be able to discount a few Coercers for you.

There's not enough DPS on a Coercer. Thanks for the offer, though!

Actualy rig production is what I do. Becuase you use salvage for that. You can't get salvage from asteroids. So; congradulations on understanding EVE mechanics.

its just one assumption after another with you, isn't it? Lol

you derps make this way too easy.

Assumption?

Fact: rig making uses salvage
Fact: salvage does not come from roids

Where is the assumption?

I have to agree with this part above. Rigs are made from salvage, not from any ores mined up.
Granted 'while' mining ores you can kill rats (with your dones), and if you come back to salvage them later you can get salvage, but even that is not much.
I could understand if it was said that he was making ships or weapons or ammo from the ore, but rigs?...

As a miner who has been "educated" several times...

I wholeheartedly approve of this education/jihad/natural selection...

I have learned not to jet-can
I have learned not to aggro
I have learned to fit a tank
I have learned not to whine when ganked AFK

I have researched and moved and mined, and moved and mined, and moved and mined... I now enjoy the thrill of low-sec and living on highsec islands
And as a miner I am thinking about a career move to provide some kinetic education to those of my profession that are stupid.

Those who will not adapt will die... Kill them, kill them all...

Ok, so you killed some miners, fair play

What I don't get is the religious and racial insensitivity, what does that accomplish? You know other than the obvious.

As someone who's never really understood the ganker outlook, I would like to ask for clarification...

What is the difference between a carebear waste of space infidel miner, and a miner who works hard to produce essential minerals for ship construction? How do you spot the difference?
I generally don't look closely at mining ships, they're a bit like asteroids in that respect, but I assume some of them must be useful, otherwise we'd all be spending our days rubbing pods against one another.

In celebration of the 4th of July, Jihad Squad's fleet of glorious martyr Catalysts descended upon infidel miners in Sinq L. in an effort to finally rid the region of bots and terrible carebears alike. We also hoped to finally receive our 72 virgins.

One set of mindless fools we came about were two completely untanked Hulks, mining within 1km of eachother. They were quickly dispatched in hilarious fashion as can be seen here:

(right click link, open in new tab)
Infidel 1
Infidel 2

Believing that painting the asteroids with the blood of those who defile them would serve as a good enough warning, we left the area for awhile. Several hours later, after drinking far too much alcohol (we aren't exactly very devout Jihadists) our scout wandered back to look for more targets to hit. And there they were...the two same people in brand new Hulks, 1km from eachother. This time they actually had shield hardeners on at least. Thinking that they might be using something far more sturdy, like faction Invuls, we added one more member of our Mujahideen to the fleet and killed them both...again.

Infidel 1
Infidel 2

1 Billion ISK worth of Hulks down the pooper from the same people in a single day. The idiocy was almost as staggering as the profit: 135mil worth of T2 salvage & loot. When miners have to ask why they are hated so much, one only has to look at their behavior.

Allahu Akbar

I really Really do not understand why even the max yield pilots are still running around with cargo rigs??

Many miners do not realize that a poorly fit exhumer is actually profitable to gank. two fit catalyst are cheap, and when they get concorded the gankers get loot and salvage from the catasysts and the mining ships. exhumers are T2 ships and can make for very valuable salvage. When you run the numbers two of even three cataylsts per exuhmer can be profitable if a decent salvage drops. It is very common for an exhumer to drop 100 mil worth of salvage. Plus several mil in modules. Even with the changes ganking can still be profitable if you do not tank.

The only mining ship that gets even minor benefit from more cargo is the hulk as it goes through more crystals, but it also needs a hauler or ORCA to actually put its slightly higher yield to good use. the hauler/ORCA can hold the extra crystals if needed.

Even if it is a legacy HULK that was fitted before the change. Pull the rigs and put new ones in.

If you want to sacrifice tank for yield you can fit a processor over clocking rig and power grid rig and fit a full rack of MLU still leaving enough CPU/PG for a decent tank.

A max yield HULK can still get well over 15,000 ehp if fit properly. Not gank proof but much better than it was. At least hard for a solo ganker to take down at a profit.

If you really want max tank a Skiff properly fit for max tank can get over 100,000 ehp. Try ganking that at a profit.

A mack can fit two MLU and a CPU II in the lows, processor overclocking, and ice mining rig in the rig slots, and still have a +20k ehp tank using shield hardeners and resistance amps. Much more if you use faction mods. Fit for full tank it can easily have over 40,000 ehp. That will not be profitable to gank.

Any ship no matter its ehp can be ganked by the right fleet. The idea is to make it so there is no chance of breaking even once they loot and salvage everything. Very few gankers can afford to throw away 50-60 mil every time the gank. But most can afford to keep ganking when dumb miners make it profitable. T2 strip miners are worth quite a bit but nothing compared to the T2 salvage that you will drop. Tank your ship or learn to enjoy being a victim of gankers.
