Out of Pod Experience

I work inside a factory where bitching about management, the heat and sweat, and the rampant gossip are part of everyday conditions. Since my job allows mobility, I get to talk to many people daily. So while doing my rounds, the latest gossip concerned a woman in her early 40s is labeled as a "whore" since she (apparently) has had five male partners in her time. Now being in my 40s myself, I always thought a whore was just another term for prostitute. Yet these gossip queens are anywhere from their 30s to early 60s, dropping this term onto other women like sailor's dropping f-bombs.

So am I old fashioned and behind the times?

Let's keep this simple: if you decide to answer, then please state your age bracket as teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50, 60s, etc and how many partners a person would have to be called a whore in your definition.

I don't think it matters what number you're given. Going by my own friends, most would probably say 5-10 but that number should be multiplied by about 3 to be more accurate. Especially if they're in their 30s or 40s when nature plays a terrible trick and decides to give middle aged women the sex drive of 16 year old boys along with the fascination with MILFs and cougars in our culture making sleeping around a lot more acceptable.

Whore is just jealous speak for player. Unless she is in six different relationships and secretly cheating on all of them, then she's a literal whore x6. But if there cool with it then she is just a player covered in man bitches awww yeeeah!

Only five in a lifetime? I knew a girl who could handle that many men in a week. No joke, she was telling me about all her past boyfriends once and five minutes into the conversation the only thought in my head was Jesus **** this ones loose.

The whole thing is still a double edge standard. The guy scores a lot and he's the man. Girl does the same and she's a ****. A man's son gets laid and he high five'n the boy. Somebody lays his daughter and he's pulling out the .45.

There used to be a time where women would be sought out with torches and pitchforks if they were single past their 20s, it's no longer allowed today, so some people fell back to all sorts of grievances with anyone not matching their standards.
You can't have a group of people fully agreeing on everything, there'll always be someone having a different opinion, whether they state it or not and sometimes, being different is enough to become the subject of all sorts of gossips and petty hatred.

In my 30's and I would honestly be more concerned about males systematic inability to get her off if she literally wades through dozens of guys.

Either way, I really don't see myself having the right to point fingers or anyone else for that matter, especially those self-appointed, self-entitled and self-righteous moral guardians. I have never seen sex as this mythical nirvana that is a sacred rite to procreation or that women are maidens whose soul and body are meant to be innocent and pure.

I would not brand a women that has had 5 partners a whore.

I am 20, I have had one partner and still have. Been together since we were 13.

I brand a whore someone that sleeps with guys every weekend, or sleeps with the popular guy just cause everyone thinks hes cute or whatever.

Theres a big arguement that goes around that if a women sleeps with 5 guys in the space of 5 weeks shes a whore, yet if a guy does the same thing hes a legend. I believe hes an *******, not a legend.

Why keep branding people that like to have sex as something or other?

Just get over yourself :)

I think its more a judgement on yourself if you call a woman a whore
