If you are looking for an awesome laptop that is affordable and will handle Eve Online look no further than the Toshiba Satellite C655.

After upgrading the RAM to 6GB Mircosoft rates its performance at 5.1 our of 7.9 where the minimum requirement based on Microsoft is only 4.1

The laptop costs about $329 plus $50 or so for the RAM upgrade for a machine that will run under $400.

It works excellent on WiFi as well.

I use McDonalds, Wendy's and the local Library Wifi to game on and other than the routine cycling of the WiFi I have not had a single disco.

Lag is non existant

Eve Audio works fine.

So if you are an on the go capsuleer then the Toshiba Satellite C655 is a good deal.

You are using WEI as a benchmark to tell if the laptop can run eve let alone just using it for anything

And ram... the ONE thing that hardly matters (unless runing more than one client) is all you touch on.

And with a starting weight of 6.0 lbs can you recommend a good band of Sherpas as well?

Buying a Toshiba lappie to play games on is a dreadful idea - as you'll find out when they fail to update their proprietary drivers/gfx card bios.

Don't do it.

Toshiba do a gaming laptop in the Qosmia range and its 5x the price you quote.

I have a Toshibsa laptop similiar to the specs you saying and it just plays
Eve with details turned down and thats with ATI graphics.

You only realise you life has been a waste of time, when you wake up dead.

I say give the guy a break. Not everyone has a £3,000 gaming PC that isn't even needed to run Eve anyway. If this guy has found a cheap laptop that can run Eve just fine at settings he is happy with then I say fair play to him.

Not everyone needs eye candy in order to play a game, and he might be a station trader that never undocks anyway.

Give the guy a break you idiots.

Assuming it's this one: http://www.cnet.com/laptops/toshiba-satellite-c655-s5049/4505-3121_7-34121930.html

Celeron Processor.
Intel GMA.

OP is either a liar or totally ignorant about what "awesome" means.

TL;DR: It's crap, don't buy it.
