Please make the caracal look like something other than a really busted up hangar. I love the scorpion remake so i would like to see something other for the caracal.

Does the damn thing even have a single deck? it looks like something impossible to be habitable by human beings?

Decent ship just ass ugly.

-Doing some image searches i found THIS and i shat bricks.

I will gladly fund the irl money needed to redesign this ugly space hangar, thats how adamant i am.

It doesn't conform to Caldari "flying brick" aesthetics.

lol oh i don't mind what they make it into, you figure they could just remake it into something slightly better than a wire hangar from a dry cleaner. I love the new manticore looks i wouldn't mind having something similar in a more "flying brick"-doctrine

There are ships who need a redesign way more badly than Caracal. You know which ones.

Caracal is awesome looking as is. It's got that D-18 look to it.

The Fujin is just bland and awkward looking.

Fujin looks like its done in Tengu style with to much emphasis on curves.

I would like to see the Caracal and Moa done in a slightly more primitive Tengu design style TBH.

Without loosing there basic shape direction.

^ this.

Seems the new caldari designs are sleek long plates. Osprey and blackbird seem to somewhat follow this design then you have the moa and caracal and u wonder WTF happened? The moa looks more like an orbital defense satellite than a ship and the caracal is 10 kinds of WTF happened here? -its like picasso took a **** on the wright brothers.

BTW if anyone is looking for an EVE Online style MMO that embraces the Fujin style design there is a game called Taikidom.

Screenshots: One, Two, Three, Four, Five.

It is out in Portuguese and taking forever to come to English. It's twitch based which might be interesting. I really want to give it a try.

Caldari and Minmatar ships are generally "ugly", with some exceptions. Gallente and Amarr ships are generally considered aesthetically pleasing, with, of course, some notable exceptions.

I like that Caldari birds, like the Caracal (and, worse, the Moa) are pretty ugly looking. Presume the utilitarian approach to ship design for Caldari hulls. Minimal style, with maximum efficiency. Other than the Raven and Scorpion hulls, which are, fore the most part, stylized around their namesakes, most Caldari vessels do not keep "look" in mind.

I've started disliking "twitch" space combat sims. I don't want to fly a drone, I'm more happy with even the smallest ships being giant carrier-sized monstrosities. Cool

Anyway, I really don't see what's wrong with the caracal and why everyone always calls it ugly. I've always thought it looked like a cross between a hydrofoil (awesome) and a large looming vulture circling its wings around to intimidate someone (also awesome).

If you want to fly an anorexic Megathron, just toss some points into Gallente and mess with your aspect ratio. Don't start demanding that the one ship that maintains the Caldari core aesthetic without looking like a bent i-beam be redesigned.

Don't get me wrong I laugh at people who want twitch based combat in this game. I like the feeling of commanding my ship, not flying it. Take us to warp, close to 50 Kilometers, Torpedo's Locked on Target, Our Weapons are being Disrupted, Overheat the Invuln Shield and close range. That is EVE, big warships not F-16's that happen to be in space for some reason.

Doesn't mean I dislike fighter Sims though. EVE is all that I play, I wouldn't mind a compliment MMO to EVE and if it happens to take the other 90% of what makes EVE great but runs a completely different style all the better. EVE's controls make it take hours to do anything worth while and there are a hundred different ways to do things AFK and offline, EVE is long term and a short term jump in and play would be an interesting compliment to my gameplay.

Think of it like the old Scorpion, it was ugly and unique. The new one is cool but looks like a Decepticon. I keep thinking when are they going to call Opimus as Primary. Not a fan of it TBH, I would have preferred they updated the old model.

New Maller has all the charm of the old Maller, they are getting better at the designs. Tier 3's have all the classic EVE Flavor in a sleek hull. That's the kink of thing I am hoping for, not killing the previous design.

I'm torn on the scorpion issue. I'd rather if they'd simply updated and scaled up the model personally, since it was way too small for a BS, and the back of it looked really weird. The new model also lacks a lot of subtlety, but is definitely really cool regardless. I'd have done it differently, but I'm not disappointed with the results.

As for the maller, I caught myself today thinking about it and picturing the old maller in my head. It looked so chunky, so fitting to what the ship is. The new one is really slick, but I think it lost a little too much weight. They are definitely getting better though. Makes me wonder what's going on with the V3 updates, if it's a different team or what.

In the end, I wouldn't mind seeing a caracal update, but I don't think it deserves any more priority than any other ship. Before it, I'd like to see the moa re-done. I'm rather fond of the ugly little duckling, but even so the engines look so... out of place. Like they strapped a frigate engine on a cruiser.

The caracal is fine. Actually is one of the best looking caldari ships aside from the kestrel/manticore and the scorpion.

Someday I will fit it with cloak and lasers just to decloak and shoot all lasers while shouting "TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE!!" just for the lulz

Caracal isn't the one that needs a redesign badly it's the Moa.

No ships should ever be redesigned in Eve before CCP give the MOA a decent look...
