Strictly speaking, 'Jew' does not refer to a race but a religion/ethnicity. Most Jews are of the Semitic race of which Arabs are also members but people don't associate being anti-Arab with being antisemitic.

You can no more be 'racist against Jews' than you can be 'racist against Amish' (another Ethic/Religious group). (PS: just because its NOT racism doesn't make it OK)

The term 'antisemite' is so misused as to be trivialised. I've heard Israelis use 'antisemite' as a general purpose insult much like that word beginning with 'b' and ending with 'd' which refers to someone born out of wedlock. I've heard (Jewish not Arab) Israelis insult OTHER (Jewish not Arab) Israelis by calling them 'antisemite'. How much sense does that make??

I think its wonderful that the word 'gay' has, once again, been subverted.

The word 'gay' was 'repurposed' by the homosexual community and now its being 'repurposed' again. Some people are unhappy that the word 'gay' can't be used to describe happiness any more, because it was 'stolen' by the homosexual community. So now we have the word 'gay' being repurposed again in a way that the homosexual community doesn't like. Maybe one day the word will come around to its original meaning and when people read literature from the days before 'gay' meant 'homosexual' they won't wonder what on earth the author is on about! "What a gay day!" Big smile (Larry Graysons catchphrase which, arguably started the whole thing).

So is Mohammed, but you can be killed for drawing a picture of ANYONE of that name...

I just had a student named Mohammed and he didn't want to be called by that name preferring his middle name, Hussein. I guess if I drew a picture of him in a bear suit I'd be in big trouble.

The problem is that no one in CCP is gay or jewish or black, so its hard for them to tell if anyone goes too far. Also no one in CCP is Mohammad or Jesus so religious slurs are thrown about.

Racism depicted in classic fiction of it's time is a different can of worms than spewing such nonsense in a Public Forum, and the OP hints at nothing of the sort.

Get out with your bad attitude, or take a class in how to use your brain to argue, not assigning behaviors that are actually irrelevant to the topic at hand.

Bleh I got other things to worry about than concerning myself with unimportant things like what the OP is talking about.

If you see any racism posts on our forums, do not hesitate to report it. Talking about racism is usually give birth to wave of controversy, like "what the word is racism and what the word is not". Topics of this nature is not appeal to refrain from racism but trolling.
