please CCP get new commentators they're so bad. VINDICATED? Seriously...

I agree.

Commentators are meant to be knowledgeable about the game and give accurate information of what is going on.

You don't.

Then to top it off I hear things like:

"The slepnir just 1 shot the proteus, maybe he forgot to turn on his hardner's" when it's speed ramped up over 10k ms and disappeared.

I'm a new player and I recognised that...

I think everyones being a little hard on the commentators here. It aint easy to do live comentary and these guys have put themselves on the spot to make the coverage of this years tournament better then ever. Give em a break, they're doing fine.

Well, apart from Zastrow..... VINDICATED?! WTF!

CCP took tens of thousands of dollars as entry fees for the tournament and commentators are volunteering their time to this.
I think that makes them extremely charitable and yet hugely misguided, but it's their choice to make. Either step up, or step off. They're the good guys.

I do not know who gets paid and who does what for free and so on and so forth blah blah blah but the commentators are indeed terrible.

Definately take the thumb out of the rear aperture CCP and use "volunteers" WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN RPEVIOUS SUCCESFUL TOURNEY TEAMS FOR GODS SAKE

is that so hard to fathom as a necessary policy?

If these dudes have indeed done well in tourneys in the past somehow find their FC at the time and give him liek 1 gazillion hugs because he is a hero...

as people said before in this thread being unsure as to what happened with that Proteus (onevolleyes for forgeting to turn hadeners on was a the most palusible scenario they came up with...) was an extreme example of their suckiness and offensive to a team that would in all probability (seeing as the fight evolved from there on) have won convincingly if not for the lost connection and they had to sit their and listen to the "commentarors" offer their opinions as to why Proteus is not a good ship for the toutney... clueless is clueless...

Seriously I had the logi de-sync on me on my first ever tourney fight and its nightmare enough without such duded rubbing salt to the wound...

and props to Ookke (and JJ Wara et all) for still doing it like a boss... gggg

You're all so bitter Sad

I enjoyed the commentary. Not all commentary needs to be a dry analysis of what is going on, since it's dull.

I was entertained throughout.

I didnĀ“t watch all matches but a couple before the break, a few after the break (on saturday and sunday).

Imo the commentators did a good job - i liked especially the "vindicated"-part.

How about all the complainers take any match from this past weekend and make a youtube demo of how they would have done it better.

You'd have all the advantages of hindsight, no lag and no live stream stresses.

Even so I think many of you will find you're not as endlessly entertaining as you think you are.

This year's team is a great mix. We need different personalities to keep it lively. FFS they even go back over the matches they've covered to see how they can improve! That's a lot of time and devotion for a free service.

If you can't step up and show us your superior qualities then mute or STFU

Agree with most points except the great mix. It is all CFC! FYI, I also have a controlling investment in a tinfoil hat company.

Great idea- open it up to other people rather than "those dudes from goons/test)

I had a professional radio presenter in my old alliance that knows his way around a mic, and am sure that there are many other competent people out there. However it clearly seems a case of who u know /are rather than what u know/can do.

And it shows....

my favorite part of doing this commentary is that it's LIVE, unrehearsed, unedited PLUS IT'S RECORDED. So when we're sitting there on the spot trying to keep track of 12 ships flying in different directions and shooting/ewarring different targets and we're trying to remember an obscure ship's bonuses or which alliance a pilot was in 2 years ago and we miss something (like an e-warp), it's recorded FOREVER. Years from now when some newbie listens to me screw up live on the air, he too will get to call me a ****** in youtube comments. It's a beautiful thing really

It's the same complaining and nitpicking every year and with every commentator. They all got their fans ofcourse, but every one of them gets their fair share of feces thrown at them by the forum monkeys. I'm sure one qualification for a good commentator is the ability to either ignore or shrug off the non-constructive negative feedback and keep doing their thing.

Haters gonna hate. vOv I happen to like all of the commentators this year (though Laz has a wee bit of a monotone sometimes), and as a lover of puns I found the Vindicator joke to be spot on, like an aged wine. Lol
