Well, the ads aren't too bad. They pop up between matches so it's not like it's a bad thing. Also, these are just the pre-quals. It'll be better once they're over and the actual tournament starts.

Yeah thank god for the "special streaming sponsor". They really added to the experience.

Lucky you, I've had the stream freeze mid match, then come up with an ad and continuing with the match. Twice now

I haven't experienced what you have so I can only assume that your stream is so far delayed that it thinks you're not in the match. Try refreshing your stream between matches.

seriously this is re--tarded amount of commercials. Everytime I change a setting on the player, like from 480p to hd, another commercial. Also, twice now, a really interesting was about to happen in the match, then BAM
another cow commercial

if you dont use an adblocker, own3d.tv will spam you with some generic advertisment and pause the stream while doing it.

holy hell...

just refreshed and it played a commercial before telling me the stream was inactive....

Guess I'll go get ad blocker now

an it may explain why the audio was lagging a full minute behind the video Roll

After the first time seeing them the alliance ads get extremely annoying, definitely an overexposure.

The Adds are comming from the Hosting Site, NOT CCP, I assume.

The hoster has actually no idea at which part of the clip you are, or what's the clip about,
and therefore doesn't care about the time he comes up with an add.

They place their adds at random times for random users.

well of course the ads are not coming from CCP, but they certainly have say in how much spamming the broadcaster should force upon their customers to watch an ingame event that lives or dies by the level of interest of those very same customers.

Is the Alliance tournament something for the community, or just another way to generate income?
if CCP couldn't make a buck on it would it still happen?

they probably would, and there's nothing wrong with the "nickel per fish sandwich" advertising model, but you should limit the number of fish sandwiches you try and make the customer eat in one sitting.

What annoys the hell out of me, is the stream is laggy as hell today (to the point of being unwatchable sometimes) but the ads are just fine and dandy with no lag. Epic fail.
