hey,
is it a good idea to have the modules fitted to a scanning ship, for example the cheetah, while doing w-space anomalies ?

Won't such ship gets destroyed really fast upon hacking or analyzing by NPC spawns ?

regads,
cray

The sleepers will munch you, don't bother. You will need a combat ship to clear at least part of the site.

EDIT - if you mean, bring along that ship with the combat ship, sure sounds good

yes that's what I inted to do. Clear sites on one acocunt and hack/analyze on second. I just don't want to lose precious skill points on training hacking/archeology on my main account.

yea works perfect as far as i know there are no new spawns when hacking the cans

and it frees up med slots on your combat ship :)

There are can-triggered spawns in higher class sites (I've seen them in C4s)

thanks for your replays ;)

I'm thinking of C1-C3s.

You can easily warp away before the can triggered spawns can get you.

If your combat boat(s) have cleared all sleeper waves in any C1-C3 mag or radar site, there will be no further spawns from can-cracking. The spawn mechanics for radar & mags in w-space are different from empire & null. I can't speak for C4-6 though I would think this holds true there too(?)

Personally I use two Helios, one with 2xT2 analyzers (T1 will do ofc) & cargo expanders (mag sites have large m3 lootz) , the other with codebreakers. Both have mwd and relevant buffing rigs. They're cap stable with just the scan mods running. They both crack cans uber-quick, which means less time flitting about in a paper-thin boat..

In C4-C6 there are mag and/or radar sites that do not spawn the last few waves unless you trigger them by opening a can.

Just FCed a Forgotten Frontier Conversion Module (C4 mag site) and can confirm this; and yes, the triggered wave spawns far enough away that the hacking/analyzing ship can simply warp off.

To the OP: if you truly are this bearish, the analzyer/codebreaker/salvager trio is not a bad use of the spare slots on a covert ops frigate. It's better than trying to gimp the tank and DPS on a combat ship, that much is certain. (I personally don't fly my covert ops that way, but my fit's probably going to make bears go Shocked anyway)
