This is getting old when you always try to explain why weapon X can't have something Z.
EvE has no logic since there is no falloff, explosion damage and other things in real space. And yes, usually explosion does massive kinetic damage.
Using some kinky logic and explaining why lasers or anything else can't have some kind of damage is really old.

They have range instead. That's their flavor. 120km off is pretty hard for Arty to deal with, especially since most don't run Sebo's to lock that far out.

They also fire pretty fast.

So, 1400's can't snipe at 245km? -Or shoot shortest range ammo with excellent damage at over 100km?

Even after a few extra looks, I can't tell if you're serious. (I hope you're not, but a lot of people think that Arty is actually good for sniping)

Because both of those are true. (Well, I fit up a Mael* that can hit 250km with Optimal+Falloff, but it only does 130 DPS at that range, which compares poorly to the standard fleet fit Rokhs ability to just swap ammo and get a 250km Optimal for 345dps)

*It's a Bad fit and I should be ashamed.
