Pretty good read. Well done and you have my thumb up.

I only paused at this:

So how does he tell the differance from AFK mining and 'passed out at the keyboard' mining?

Lol

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Great Tibus Heth got himself an EvE account...

You'd have better luck going to highsec island with icebelts as anyone with half a brain has moved to those now over mainland high sec because people gank just anyone not just the bots.

It is actually pretty well written...long, but not bad.

Oh the temptation to come mine in Halaima just to see how effectively you could bump me.

He's actually pretty awful at it, tbqh. I moved my alts mining operation to Halaima after his first terrible thread and he's unsuccessfully tried bumping me a number of times. It's really quite sad and pathetic.

Clearly lies and slander. I hope, for your sake, that our Overlord finds it in his heart to forgive you.

James

I have seen you on the ice belt in Halaima and your local banter is quite funny but If I remember correctly when one miner dropped a can and challengfed you all you did was tuck tail and hide in station. I guess the big bad hurricane scared you.

You can talk the talk but you obviously can not walk the walk.

By the way I have AFK mined in Halaima when you were in system and I have yet to be ganked by you which means only one thing you fail at everything.

Dont take that personal or do I dont care.

Heh. The reason I require miners to remain at their keyboards isn't to keep chairs warm. I want them to be active players, engaged in the community. The rule of thumb is, if you can't respond to me in local in a timely manner, you're deemed AFK and have violated the New Halaima Code of Conduct.

Granted, all miners need to pay 10 million, not just those found guilty of violating the Code. But it's like when a cop turns on his siren with two speeders nearby, and one of the cars pulls over to the side of the road while the other tries to escape. It would be easier to just ticket the guy who stopped, but most cops will leave that one and go chase the guy who's trying to flee. I'm more likely to bump those who commit egregious offenses.

One of the things I've learned about highsec miners is, there's nothing new under the sun. Today, virtually everything a miner says or does is a repeat of something another miner tried earlier. For example, a miner might insist that he's not bothered by the bumps...and later breaks down and petitions me or whines in local. The idea of putting on a brave face and claiming the bumps are unsuccessful is old hat. "You're not doing a good job bumping me"...and then the mining lasers deactivate because he's 100km from the roid he was trying to mine. Roll

Case in point: Early on in my Arvasaras campaign, I had a guy insisting that I was irrelevant, totally unable to affect anything with my bumps. His bravado was much more convincing than the miner in this thread. But then he went to the forums crying and begged people to help him. My favorite was this little gem:

No, this is a mechanic that you can't counter. This isn't eve.

Okay, so I'm a terrible bumper who totally can't bump you out of mining range and stop you from mining? Remember that when you're petitioning to CCP and begging them to nerf bumping. Blink

*chuckle* Move to low sec and try that bumping trick, see how far it goes for you. ;)
