It's more a matter of mechanics than content. Of course, even if you don't consider that to be the case, I don't see you being able to claim that missions, incursions, plexes, rats, etc aren't content, and created by CCP.

Simply because missions, incursions, plexes, rats are all pve content designed to make the isk in order to do the pvp (of whatever variety you wish, be it large fleet null, small fleet roams, 1v1, WH pvp etc) which is the sandbox.

If CCP started making PvP content they would be detracting from the sandbox which is against their promoted standpoint and also against the majority of the playerbase's wishes.

Also, you can't create pve content yourself but you can create pvp content. Thus, just to reiterate, if you want an arena go and make an arena yourself with the tools you've been given and a little imagination and thought.

Well, I haven't talked to the majority of the playerbase, myself, so I guess you're ahead of me there. I didn't even know they were all considering whether or not we should have an arena.

Please explain what mechanics you're talking about? You mean the ones where I can fight someone in highsec as long as one of us is flagged against his opponents entire corp? You have no idea how many fights are refused because of that.

Personally, I don't really care much about an arena. I'm just being sucked in by the fact that more than 3/4 of everything you use as an argument is utterly false, but you're hellbent on attacking someone's idea. (Btw, you should check out the forum rules....the part where it says "keep it constructive".) I wonder at what point you'll start believing yourself, or if you already do. That's usually a matter of ethics and intelligence, but since I can supply you with more of neither, I guess I'm done here.

Do not run. We are your friends.

Don't be facetious. Of course I haven't spoken to the majority of the playerbase. I'm taking what I've read of people's views on the forums for a substantial amount of time and extrapolating from that. Besides which, only fools play a sandbox game and demand it's made less of a sandbox. You don't want sandbox, don't play sandbox.

No, the ones where you start a corp, move out of high sec, set up a 1v1 arena in your system, police it, promote it and make it a reality. You don't want to do that? It's a sandbox. You don't have to but don't say you can't because you blatantly can. You just need to put effort into it. You and the others calling for an arena just want "safe" pvp content. As various people have said to that one, go play WoW.

Or, you could set one up in high sec. Set up an "Arena" corp. Anyone wanting to play in the arena joins the corp. Then you can set up your arena in high sec. Policing it would be up to you.

What you seem to want is the "risk free" part. This is EvE. Nothing should be risk free. There should always be a way for it to be affected by others. I've given you two ways to set it up. Both have their risks but that is the nature of the game.

Firstly, complete rubbish. If you're not bothered about arenas why are you giving reasons why you think it's a good idea? Secondly, what about my arguments are false, except perhaps my assumptions regarding the playerbase as neither one of us can prove or disprove that empirically
?

Suggesting that people play the game rather than whining that it isn't like Wow is constructive. Suggesting that people might like to try something else if this isn't to their tastes is constructive.
Suggesting how people can set up their wished systems themselves rather than whining that CCP won't just hand them risk free pvp on a plate is constructive.

Yes, I'd say you're right. You can supply neither.
