What do you do on TQ?

High sec ganking, random pvp, corp theft, market speculation, occasional mercenery / infiltrator work.
We have an absurd amount of skillpoints, but we're not the most active eve players around.

What was your budget for the AT?

We don't really have a budget, but luckily for us we have the best suicide ganker in EVE helping out ! :) <3 Shai

How much did you practice?

Probably not enough, we have a pretty limited number of people and showing up for practise isn't always the highest of prorities ;P

Did you engage in any spying?

Yes

What teams are you scared of?

Pandemic Legion, DarkSide, Mildly Intoxicated, Gypsy Band

Do you have any particular rivals that are also in the tournament?

Mildly Intoxicated (Ookke) blew up my Impoc in a previous tournament :(
and I feel a certain eagerness to stomp PL, not sure I'd call it a rivalry so much as them being king of the hill (and they we lost to them in AT 7)

Anything about setups you can share?

smartbombing nano-battleships with lockbreakers

Do you have past AT experience?

Didn't make it into the 9th (Fu ccp we should've had a reserved slot.), but I was a Team Captain/Organizer in AT1-8 and now 10, made it to semi-finals a couple of times, GH-SC peeps have been on all of my teams..

What do you think of the rules?

Not too bad I guess, kinda preferred it when it was 10 v 10
Frekis are really overpowered, hacs, hics and faction cruisers cost too much, I like that recons are 14 now, 13 was too cheap.
Not giving top teams from previous tournaments automatic entry is ********.

Apparently I have the biggest gob in CVA and so drew the short straw…

What do you do on TQ?

We’re one of the oldest alliances still existing in Eve and occupy the worst 0.0 area in the game. Allegedly it’s me and 1,000 alts including the entire tournament team… in fact the tournament was entirely set up to test my multitasking abilities……

Alternative version….

We're a casual alliance made up of either Amarr Loyalists or people interested in fighting to uphold the Not Red Don’t Shoot policy that raiders and small gang pvpers so love us visiting Providence for. Even PL like to visit us with their small titan gangs for good fights. ;0

We have closet Amarrian FW peeps pretending to be independent… industrialists and traders constantly playing the markets on alts (yes we collect the hate mail to laugh at)… incursion isk whorers …. And then all those that refuse to leave 0.0 or low sec. Let’s call us a broad Amarrian church.

What was your budget for the AT?

Last I checked I had semi-bottomless pockets so I find it hard to understand the word “budget”. Apparently it wasn't needed as they don't want me to lose any more 160 bn ships. Spoilsports

How much did you practice?

Practice? Oh you mean our normal small gang pvp!

Did you engage in any spying?

We have a well known stance on meta gaming which perplexes many people but we’re happy with it.

What teams are you scared of?

I’m supposed to put a jokey answer here but most of us are pragmatists – it’s a computer game so hopefully no one is scared by it … though some of its occupants are plain weird.

Do you have any particular rivals that are also in the tournament?

Not really as most have falled by the wayside over the long years in space but as almost every other contestant is red to us they all blur into one. In fact we see most of them here on a weekly basis.

Anything about setups you can share?

I’ve been banned from deploying most of my setups – apparently they were ****.

Do you have past AT experience?

We have a handful of players with past experience including the hero scimitar that tanked the entire PL alt gang last time. Mostly keen tournament virgins…. no we mostly all have children so get your minds out of the gutter!

What do you think of the rules?

Some nice changes to eliminate some of the shenanigans from the last few tournaments. That said they're mostly likely to be not witnessed in the breach as per the usual booster usage from last year.

I will skip the boring questions and get to some interesting facts about our team. Who we are what we do and where we live you can read in our recruiting advert here.

And now to the interesting facts. We are veterans of numerous previous tournaments although we did not compete always as RONIN.
We entered the alliance tournaments at the first one and we were NORAD at that time (yea, where are the times when NORAD ruled the Outer Ring and Cloud Ring). The second one we were still fighting for glory of NORAD.
The third tournament we entered as new under dogs The RONIN an we almost beat the BoB well we would beat them if we had more time to prepare for the final match. We had a winning strategy prepared to beat them but we did not have the time to think it over and chose the right setup well how can you think properly if your blood is full of adrenalin from previous match that just ended. The fourth tournament we went again as Ronin with moderate success, the fifth we did not enter for reasons i can't remember but there were some. Sixth tournament we entered with our new project R.U.R. and again as unknown under dogs we fly straight into the finals where PL cheated us of our victory as we learned years later. The seventh, eighth and nine we entered as The Ronin again and have been fighting for glory of our lord Asano Naganori ever since.

And now back to some of your less silly questions.

Did you engage in any spying?
NO! we never engaged in any spying or meta gaming we are honourable samurai that strongly believe in good sportsmanship and fair play.

What teams are you scared of?
No one can scare samurai with hearts of lion.

Do you have any particular rivals that are also in the tournament?
There are few teams that we would like to settle score with, the cheating PL for example.

What do you think of the rules?
Well changing rules on the fly is not that great idea although I agree that multiple ASB can ruin the tournament with unbreakable tanks, I think that all the new modules are too new to be allowed in the tournament and they should be all banned from the beginning .

Who are Rote Kapelle?
We are a group of Syndicate residents who, while watching My Little Pony, fight off Zerg invaders in WWII era tanks, all the while complaining about the lack of cyno effects as we're bridged by M37s supported by 15 Guardians and a hoard of EC-300s.

What was your budget for the AT?
Roughly an '89 Carolla worth of PLEX. Its also 100x the amount of views "Call me Maybe" has on youtube

How much did you practice?
More than a beer league hockey team, but less than a proper curling team.

Did you engage in any spying?
Just bacchanalian

What are you scared of?
CCP's whims.

Do you have any particular rivals that are also in the tournament?
Ourselves, our killboard proves that when someone fails even a little bit, jimmies get rustled. The tournament is no exception.

Some dude keeps talking about beating bob in ATwhatever but I didn't think theres anyone left in Rote with that old of an account.

What do you think of the rules?
Theres a lot of butthurt reactionary rules this year. Hopefully it makes for a bigger Nvidia sponsorship so that they donate more videocards and we can cash our inevitable tourny winnings out of the game.
