I threw up my manufacturing spreadsheet up in a couple of hours, and stick in half an hour every few weeks to add features. It's not a fancy auto-updaty thing, but it does the maths for me, and says when I don't have the materials.
It's not a waste of time if you know what you're doing with spreadsheets already.

Yup. I use a spreadsheet. It's no problem to update it with material/invention cost to work out the potential profit. The only trouble with manufacture is the 0.01isk games you often have to play to get your stuff to sell (depending on the item of course).

Noticed that. I started off with trading to see how much money I could make doing that while I got my production skills up. After a week of not selling anything I am trying to reevaluate where I am selling my stuff. I found a L4 mission hub, and apparently is is a lot less used then DOTLAN led me to believe. :(

Ive never been able to make any good in market trading. Too bad. I don't have the patience to do it.
I enjoy a more active revenue stream. Ive. been trying out building things from salvage and its doing good. Still though more of a distraction then anything else. Still nice to see where the profit margins are. The isk is there if you can bothered to put the time in.

I have the same problem with manufacturing.

My guess is personality differences makes or breaks people for certain roles. I love this about Eve. Simple enough to get your feet wet(for the most part), but complicated enough to allows those who are good at something to shine.

Find something you enjoy, and do it.
