Looking for helping ripping DVD's

hey all,

So, I have a big DVD collection but I am looking to make copies of my DVD's to have as MPEG files to make it easier to stream across my home network and I'm looking for some (free) software to help. I have been trying to use DVDx 4 but it seems to just lock up on me all the time and either won't load DVD info or just stops after 75mb and was hoping someone might have a recommendation.

Strange, itunes has been taking care of that for me. It's even managed to get some of my slightly more scratched cd's.
