What differentiates Eve from other games?

EVE has the largest concentration of highly intelligent players of any game --on the earth. To me, that is the most important aspect of the game.

Second, EVE has a virtual market that is the closest market that mimics real markets. Again, no game even comes close.

Now, my question: what differentiates EVE from other games that makes you play EVE?

Metagame, sure. However, I am not interested in Psychology 101 freshman year in college or to treat players like I am in highschool. I am looking for something more fundamental.

Sandbox? It is an overused word that means everything and nothing.

PVP? No. I can play Call of Duty where its CONSTANT PVP. Or, I can play Darkness Falls where, if I die too much, my character gets deleted. That makes pvp here look weak. We can argue about the details; but, lets agree to disagree.

I can understand the social aspects. I can understand addiction.

I am curious as to what else drives players to play.

I expect all the *normal* answer; but, I hope I read something off the wall that gets me thinking.

Sandbox PvP. If you don't know what a "sandbox" is, or why Eve's PvP is different from CoD's PvP (and in many peoples' opinions, better), perhaps you shouldn't be dismissing them.

Deal wi-- I'm sorry.

What is a sandbox to you?

What is PvP to you?

DEFINE what you wish to argue.

Only EvE lets you spin your ships and even have a counter to see your progress about it. Blink

Yes it does. Yes it does.

I have to chalk up Boredom as to why forum posters reply. Do you not want to play EVE?

Too slow of a game?

Not enough action?

What?

Hey, you're supposed to switch between two different characters when you sockpuppet. Talking to yourself like that just makes people doubt your sanity.

Every time you post a WiS thread, Hilmar strangles a kitten.
