I just returned to EVE after 2y+ of inactivity. I am not here to whine or complain about anything, I am just interested in game (market) mechanics.

1. Ships cost so much, last time i played Raven was 80-90M, HACs were 100M, in fact almost all ships are a lot more expensive.

2. Why are low-tier officer items so expensive. To my surprise, I had some laying around in Jita and a lot of them are going for several hundreds of millions.

If there are any other major changes in market/industry/mining/moon side, that has happened since the time BoB died(last thing i remember), I would be happy to hear them.

Inflation.

Also, markets change with manipulation, flavor of the month, etc.

What if I told you that 2 years ago, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese (McRoyal with Cheese) used to cost $2.99USD, now-a-days it's a whole $4.99USD...but I swear it wasn't that long ago.....

That covers both the first and second points, in truth.

Well, they usually tame inflation by having ISK sinks. T1 ships were more expensive before they hit the ~80M low(like Raven). Raven price history(1 Year) shows jump starting 6 months ago. I also remember Tritanium being lower and Zyd being higher, moon metals etc. I am just wondering were there any game mechanic changes(like changes to insurance or mineral drops).

I am just wondering, what were the major changes that had a great impact on the game.

The general inflation has been blamed on Incursion running creating a large supply of ISK. Inferno 1.0 whacked this with a big fat nerf bat. 1.1 is trying to patch it back up to something that doesn't suck.

More recently, Drones stopped dropping minerals and gained bounties. I think this is net-neutral, but it does add isk into the economy.

Faction Warfare changes were recently abused by the Goons, that's a fun read.

There have been some market manipulations over the year that stuck once they were done.

That sums up what I can think of.

It's a great time to be a miner if you don't get shot. Almost all of the high-sec ores have m3/hour parity and they're nearly on par with lowsec ores.

I hope that helps some.

ftfy.

top end minerals are falling in prices, in fact, a lot of low sec ores are worth more per m3 than null sec ores.
there's just over 200k isk difference per jetcan of bistot vs a jetcan of pyrox.

mercoxit is still ahead of everything but you mine it at a different rate so it's harder to compare 1 jetcan of x vs 1 jetcan of mercoxit.

Thanks for fixing that for me.
I've got this chart that is watching the proximity for me:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Av49RIDL-V7zdG5VV1hGdEwxTjR6Q2ltcHU5QjFsUXc#gid=4

If the two hard normal minerals hit the tritanium ratio, I'll be gobsmacked.

Nocxium is overpriced compared to the ratio, so if that falls, the others will be more in-line.

Fun Fun.

Worth watching:

EVE Fanfest 2012: State of the Economy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MZD6-vGQms

14:59 = "Incursions are not the problem today, but there are definitely balance issues."

Note that CCP has since addressed those balance issues.

24 trillion ISK per month faucet coming into the game, mostly from bounties.

Then there is the velocity of ISK increasing (ISK is changing hands faster), primarily because of PLEX (25% of the market).

Oh yeah I'd not bot now if I were you. Your little hulk will get popped, your market script will get banned, your main who was filtering the isk will receive a negative wallet.

Also prices will return to normal again when CCP introduces the new buffed tanked ''botting sciff'' and also steal all the goons isk and assets because they are too good at winning eve.

Demand has a lot more to do with it than has so far been given credit in this thread.

Sadly, we do not have an adequate supply of credit to meet the demand for credit and demand's demand for credit was denied.

Thats because they where forced to stop using Pink goo in tubes as their meat, they now actually have to use meat, I would link it, but instead of opening myself up to repercussions, id rather you just google it.

I believe tacobell was the latest victim of nosy people and their scientific research.

I dont care what it is, it tastes good and I want my damn 2% fly shavings.
