This guy is being super sketch. When I left a tip that it'd be helpful if some details were shared in the thread, he replied with some vague nonsense, and threatened to delete my reply if it wasn't about the job. He looks to have figured out that he can't any sooner delete my reply than I could his, and closed up shop in the old thread, moved to this one.

My warnings still apply, though, he has now shown even more sketchness, so be careful if you do business with him.

The only way you could know that it takes only "a couple of hours" is if you know how to do it yourself. But because you are hiring somebody, I'm gonna assume you don't know how to do it, less alone how much it would take. So what's gonna happen when your employee finds an unforeseen obstacle (php instalation doesn't have curl, mysql not compatible with your raid array, etc) and "a couple of hours" end up being 2 weeks? Are you prepared to pay the developer's rate for 2 weeks of troubleshooting?

A usual rate for such a short project in such a short notice is like $150 an hour (being kind). $150 x 80 hours = $12,000.00 USD. Do you have the dow? Because if you only have funds to pay "a couple of hours" and your developer ends up working 2 weeks... is he gonna work for free?

ouuuuuu and now a GM will come by and wave his 'banhammer' over Ilyk. My feet are shaking that he doesn't report me to (as I also posted in this thread).

I'm sure there are two sides of the story, but that does look kind of harassy. Your frequent character trading (this obviously is an alt you're posting from) is also kind of unnerving when we're talking about paying large sums of isk for services.

And really, I'm not trolling. Trolling would be me calling your mother names. This is my pointing out a potentially bad deal, which is perfectly reasonable. I can understand why you'd take offense to such a thing, but you can diffuse this by providing more details, and being open as to what you're trying to do. Also, what Shameless Avenger said:

Say wut? Paying with ISKIES? Last time I check ISKies were not good for O'Reily books, computer equipment, internet connection fee, energy bill, etc etc etc.

However... at a conversion rate of 950M ISK per $35.00 USD... 2 weeks should be like 325 Billion ISK. Just so you know.
