Hello again Eve Online.

I wanted to let you know what’s been going on in my gaming life lately.

I just recently bought Diablo 3 and was very upset with the direction the game is going. The way the entire game has been made around the RMAH and how the DEV’s seem to nerf/”balance” things without proper testing really made me appreciate eve’s test server and the way flaws are able to be pointed out before a patch is put live.

Diablo 2 was one of my first addictions to video games, I remember staying inside all summer during high school to play my (ill) legit ith barb back in 1.09. **** was fun. Diablo 3 was so bland; the story so horrible, and the game play was very shallow. The dev’s are not nice either. I know it hasn’t been out long but the infuriation I developed in such a short amount of time drove me back to the extremely deep Eve online environment.

I actually stopped playing eve a couple of times, the first reason was drugs, but after overdosing on E I came back to help kill time since I was really burnt out. Then I stopped playing once those “leaked slides” came out and reminded me exactly of D3 does now. It seems at least that CCP seemed to have listened to the out lash that people had to the NEX store, and hopefully won’t let it be an extremely high priority over other game mechanics that need adjusted.

I seem to understand that most MMO’s can’t operate without small cash flow in the form of micro transactions, but basing the entire game off of it makes the end game so boring. So you can buy a 250$ sword from the RMAH on D3 to kill inferno diablo over and over…. Cool.

I don’t think it’s really needed in a subscription game, but the cosmetics of the NEX don’t seem harmful to gameplay to me.

After starting eve since my “quitting” I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of the small touches that have been added. Warp->jump all in one button, Assault frig updates on layouts, ******* missile turrets! Some pretty cool stuff going down. Although it seems like such a small amount of things to those who have been playing since then, they really are quite large changes to gameplay.

I wanted to say thanks for being such a depth filled game with an almost endless amount of possibilities to do things that way you want and not spoon feeding us nasty carrots like some other games recently.

I would like to suggest to CCP that listening to customers is very important to keeping them happy, which in turn allows them to suggest the game to others. You do a pretty decent job compared to other companies, but don’t let the all mighty dollar run your business, a good game will sell its self. A game designed around making money feels like just that….. and it’s pretty hard to make those kind of philosophies “fun.”

When I came back to the forums, I had a problem remembering my characters name and had a response from a ccp dev within like 5 minutes. Talk about excellent turnaround time, I told that guy to tell his boss to give him an extra break with how ecstatic I was about the excellent customer service. I was able to log in under 10 minutes from filing the petition.

I am still kind of of just sitting here ship spinning, but that’s just because I always did that. I want to do some missions but I’m broke, lol.

But regardless, please keep up the good work and implementing small changes here and there that greatly benefit gameplay and listening/talking/communicating effectively with your customers and understanding the general feelings that are being laid out for you to see.

TL:DR; keep up the good work ccp, focus on keeping eve fun, I would try and devote some more people to it, but you can only ask for so much. o7

I could always point out the flaws in eve, but after coming from a flawed game, there's a lot of shiny things in eve that really do shine!
