Yes. Only your corpmates, not fleet members or ally mates.

EDIT : and only if you're in a player corporation, not a NPC one.

This is why only allow pilots that you have checked out thoroughly in your corp. Even after this don't fly anything shiny around newer members till they have proven themselves. Most won't wait very long if it's someones alt and they just want to get a quick kill.

Before you join a corp check battleclinic to see if they have corp on corp kills.

Even with all this you can still become a victim.

Sorry you had to learn about one aspect of Eve the hard way. Unlike some other MMORPGs where players can be banned for unscrupulous acts in Eve it is encouraged.

Just remember not everyone is bad so don't close yourself to interactions with other players.

Was more the fact that I couldn't leave. They warp scrambled me and webbed me on both toons with an 800mil freighting contract and a few hundred mil in items in my charon and tengu :( lol.

Yeah they took 2-3b off me last night. Stuff all left :( lol

I am curious as to how they attacked me in high sec without police response?

Was it because i was in his corp/fleet?

Yes. Corp members can blow each other away without CONCORD response.

I have no idea why.

So common scammer tactic includes 'recruiting' members so they can blow away their ships and loot the wrecks.

They then boot victim from corp, usually.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

They said it was part of the requirements to get in. A trust issue sort of thing and promised to get them back. I'd been in a corp similar where all items were corp assets shared between members. Pretty cool actually and very profitable.

That's some fu***ed up sh***

I can see much better ways of building and establishing trust, like, you know, working together for mutual benefit.

On a more constructive note, always always investigate the corp. Look at their killboards. Look up the principals on Evewho and check them out too. Google everyone and everything, see what pops up on eve forums.

Last time to answer questions since they have sort of all been answered.

I am sorry to hear they got another. This thread was suppose to help against that. I'll definitely be looking up everyone I deal with from now on.

I am however glad to report that I have recovered from the loss. It is pretty easy when you have a ton of junk you can sell. Guess I am a packrat.

Fly safe. I'm out. Laterz.

This is to all of you fools , if anyone ask "bring your ships along" you say "this is the only one I got" while pointing at your lvl 4 mission runner Raven.

Bob Artis, you will be missed.

And for those who don't want to click on the link I will repost the advertisement:

2012.07.03 11:51:46 Recruitment Aleronius Active friendly corp looking to recruit.Sign-on bonus for pilots of:* Level 4 runner 200 m* Freighter 200 m* Orca 150 m* Hulk 100 m* Noctis, T2 Hauler 75mConvo me

That is the same-ish ad I saw and the reason I joined. I did not get any of it. And instead got scammed and then kicked from corp and nobody would even respond to my questions. My advice is if it is too good to be true, then it is. And that recruitment ad is too good to be true.

Once again, stay away from this corp. I am sure Aleronius is one of them who like to scam. Be your own judge and fly cautiously around this corp and members.

So I am also going to add Aleronius to my red list. Also according to his employment history he joined the corp July 2nd. I guess he thinks 2 days is "some time" when he posted on the 4th. I hope I've proved his post cannot be trusted, and as such, he can't be either.

At Kalel Nimrott. Thanks for the advice. It would have saved me time and trouble.

Demonfuge invited me to his corp yesterday (7-9-2012). Asked me join him for a level 4 mission. Had me meet up with him at a planet where he and 3 or 4 others were waiting. I was webbed/scram'd immediately. He told me not to worry, this is how they induct all new members. He then proceeded to attempt to extort 100 Million ISK from me telling me it will be refunded. I refused to pay and set my raven to self destruct. They opened fire as he continued to try and get me to pay. Once my ship was gone, they scrambled my pod and continued to try to get me to pay. I told him "Hurry up and pod me so I can get on with my day". So he obliged.

Anytime I lose a ship in Eve, I know I played a part in the loss. This time it was my fault for not double checking the douchebag level of this low-life.

Lesson learned. Fool me once...

I believe they are all alts but I don't know. Anyway, fly safe and have fun.

Oh and the scam is promise isk for certain qualities and then take your stuff while they scram an expensive ship you brought to a mission they where doing.

So lesson is. Bring a shuttle the first time you meet anyone.

yup, definitely a shell corp that lures people in and traps them. -sigh-

I like to think of you more along the lines of a space venus fly trap.
