Next time you go through lowsec either bring a combat ship so you can shoot back, or don't just mind your own business -- nano fit your ship for max speed and agility and stay alert, and get away before they can lock you.

And check your route on the map first for recent podkills.

That is what EVE is about is intel, intelligent planning, and taking chances knowing you could get blown up at any time.

And your RP scenario is dumb, such an Amarrian would not even become a capsuleer. You have to kill yourself to graduate from capsuleer school you know.

That is why it is a bit scandalous that Empress Jamyl turned out to be a capsuleer.

Again with the unfounded allegations. Let me repeat myself until you people learn it, Kalea: I am not trolling. If there is a way for me to prove the validity of my story then please, by all means, do tell.

I think I’ve been as fast as I could. I immediately warped to the next gate but somehow they targeted and scrambled me anyway in that instant. I guess I should have waited until my training for the cloak-MWD combo was finished.

For the third time now: I was not RPing as an Amarrian (reread the OP) but merely compared my character’s stance on cloning to the one of Amarrian royalty.

Anyway, I think I have made my peace with this whole incident now. It might take me a few more days to get my motivation up but seeing how I apparently was a clone to begin with quitting because of this seems silly.
Oh well, not everyone is a pacifist like me and since EVE allows (if not encourages) such behavior I should indeed not be surprised by it. Looks like it is to be expected to find such scum here. It’s just that I simply did not realize how depraved the pirates and similar human dross in EVE actually are until now. Low lives gonna low life.

Okay so you are not actually Amarrian but that is less relevant than the rest, that capsuleers ARE clones by definition. Comprenez vous?

Oui. You are the third or fourth person to tell me that in this thread so I think I’ve got it now P

Some people take this way too seriously.

They are no more scum than the enemy in a multiplayer battle of your generic FPS.

Because EVE is a game, one where killing your enemy (which may be everyone) is the intended goal.

Unlike “in a multiplayer battle of your generic FPS”* EVE allows you to play this game without ever killing someone and still be successful. Murdering other players is a decision that you make. No one forces you to do so. There are lots of alternatives. Trading, my profession of choice, is one of them. Justify it all you want but in my eyes this is just an asshole move. End of story.

*Although, given classes like the medic even this is not necessarily true.

1) it isn't murder. It cannot be murder because its only pixels and until a government decides that killing pixels is a crime, it cannot by definition be murder.

2) Don't evade the profanity filter (though I don't think the word you tried to evade is even on the list).

3) if playing the game the way it is meant to, especially in that location, makes them an ass, then you need help.

Oh by the way, if you were indeed "Role playing" as you say you are... Any self respecting Amarrian wouldn't be caught dead in a a piece of crap ship other than an Amarrian ship. So you fail at Role Playing. Do youself a favor, don't take it to such an extreme, and update your damn clone. You just wasted 30 days of training and $19.99.

He wasn't role playing as an Amarr. he was roleplaying someone with an Amarrian noble's sense of entitlement.

@OP
If you want to play that way, then you should have been playing an Alpha (<900k skill point) character.
Mine makes more money than my main in a month and never has to undock from station. All "pvp" is done in markets. And If I leave station and get podded, its usually in my rookie ship since its all he can fly well. Big smile

How is that asking for respect of my RPing? I was merely trying to understand what they got out of killing me. Malcanis explained that now. I never said that I was mad about them not “respecting” my choice not to use clones. This would be fucking retarded. It was the seemingly baseless and mean ambush that annoyed me.

Tippia wrote:
Having your original brain fried is pretty much a part of the capsuleer creation process.

Could you quote the relevant part? I was already familiar with that article and now rereading it I did not find any such passage either. Did I miss it or something?

Just like you're RPing an idiot for Poops and Giggles, the pirates shot you for Poops and giggles (and possibly a hope of a hold full of BPOs or a head full of KB padding implants or to get rid of someone's scout, etc).

You got podded in LS (a place where it's pretty hard to catch a properly flown pod). Your SP loss is entirely your fault.

Anyway, if you're asking about LS's meanness, you've been sorely misinformed. HS is carebear-funzie land where the Police make the big meanies pay for their fun. LS is where the big meanies get to have their fun. Null is where the big meanies get to have their fun and have bubbles to make sure of catching your pod.

If you're less than a month old, you probably don't have 900k sp yet. Therefore didn't lose any sp..
Just saying..

small cargo =/= no value in the hold.

just last night i was talking to a newer player that was assuming his hoarder was not a target due to smaller cargo space. you "could" easily fit billions in a frigate. besides all of this, you should assume everyone outside of hisec won't hesitate to kill you, just for the lulz. killboard or no killboard, implants or no implants. and yes even hisec has plenty of people that share this same philosophy, only game mechanics makes their job a little harder.

An unupgraded clone is still a clone.

I mean, you say your character won't use cloning tech, but when you respawn, you respawn in a clone. You are using cloning tech. Might as well update it.

If he is trolling, it was a massive effort that involved ranting about being podded in corp chat for quite some time. At the time I was doing some courier work, U of C corp chat went wild with many people making the same kinds of statements that we have seen here.

This does point out that the lore about capsuleers already being dead is not well presented. How many capsuleers have I met through the years concerned about maintaining their "original flesh"?

David may need to retcon the character's story a little. The Capsule and the Clone: we are inseperable. David might also want to check mark726's series on EVE Lore.

Uh, probably not the first to say this but you do realise that the body you start out in is actually a clone? Refusing to use cloning technology whilst being a capsuleer doesn't make sense.
