Legion PVP - Solo

I know that it's hardly considered the best ship and I know there are probably better ones out there but, I have money to burn and i've never tried one out.

I have perfect skills for the ship with perfect gunnery and armor skills too so, I figure... why not?

With that in mind I was considering maybe going stealth too. It will be used for low-sec PVP. I'll consider all types of builds, not just stealth.

Thanks.

I haven't flown the Legion into PVP but I've heard that a HAM fit is the most competitive. If you go the laser route, the Legion is just a heavier, more expensive Zealot.

The Legion is just too defective. If you plate it, it'll probably get caught. If you put a 100mn AB on it, it becomes a brick. Trying to ambush from cloak will probably lead to death as well, since the Legion's covert sub is terrible.

I had such high hopes for this ship before it came out... and then it came out crippled.

I'm sure there's some ace pilots out there who made videos of the Legion not sucking, but for me... why try to PVP with your legs broken? Besides, all the gameplay styles of the Legion can be replicated by the Amarr HACs/Recons, usually to better effect at a lower price. Neut curse beats neut Legion, Zealot is very close to Legion's DPS with laser config, and the Pilgrim is a superior stealth ganker.

The Legion is simply the worst T3. Amarr are a bit unlucky with their ships. I am Amarr, I can use nearly all the Amarr subcap ships. But in fact I fly Minmatar.

My chief claims that:

(his Legion (no idea if Ham or Hm) 2 BCU II) > (Tengu with 3 BCU II). DPS wise.

The Legion also gets a wonderfull HUGE buffer.

If you are going to do the cloaky pvp. the covert op gimps your dps. So you will have to be picky with your targets.
HAM/Neuts be best. May better off flying a pilgrim

Is there no hope then?

I would have liked to have gone for a laser fit. I've just bought a set of slaves too.

I wouldn't listen to most naysayers in this thread :) I don't know about lasers but with HAMs i think its a workable ship. Not the best, but workable.

try this if you do indeed have money to burn and slaves to fit:

[Legion, hams armor]
1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Damage Control II
True Sansha Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System
Caldari Navy Ballistic Control System
Shadow Serpentis Armor Thermic Hardener

Core B-Type 100MN Afterburner
Federation Navy Stasis Webifier
Small Capacitor Booster II, Navy Cap Booster 400
Dark Blood Warp Scrambler

Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Rage Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Rage Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Rage Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Rage Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Rage Assault Missile
Heavy Assault Missile Launcher II, Mjolnir Rage Assault Missile

Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Medium Trimark Armor Pump I

Legion Defensive - Augmented Plating
Legion Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer
Legion Engineering - Power Core Multiplier
Legion Offensive - Assault Optimization
Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

Can also put an ACR II and fit a nice med rep on it if you feel like it.

HAM Legion is just a weaker HAM Tengu
Pulse Legion is just a marginally better Zealot for a significantly higher cost

If you're gonna solo PVP though, you'll have much better luck with a 100MN AB HAM fit.
