This is not meant as a troll, maybe I am a bit slow or stubborn, but I still don't understand what is your problem? Online games are always silly, there is no reward for getting pixels to shoot other pixels, they are just for fun and entertainment.

If you want real meaningful rewards, you will have to look for them in this thing called "real world".

thats like a morbidly obese saying "if I wanted to be healthy , I wouldn't be here stuffing my face full of burgers and steak"
its a passive aggressive , suicidal spiral to oblivion
here is the top searchs on googles related to EVE online

eve online is pi profitable
eve online is for bob
eve online is free
eve online is mining worth it
eve online is down
eve online is dying

eve online is it fun

Now , with 4 of those questioning whether the game is worth it and 2 of those asking or stating if the game is dying , something maybe amiss or it could be just me

You can buy SP for ISK. All you do is convert that ISK into PLEX, use it and then play Skill Queue Updater™ for 3 years and you can fly pretty much whatever you like. At which point you'll decide you want to do mining and realize it takes you 3 months to get into a Hulk. Shocked

NO!
and thats a BIG BLINKING NO
Its unfair to the older players and advocates wallet mongering

that will take a year before I'll can even get in one , not to mention YEARS before someone can actually be competent in it instead of being just an oversize turkey .

it'll be 3 more months till I can get my DPS up to 700 .

This game makes me feel like I'm a billionaire child with his nose pressed against the windows of an expensive toys shop ,being mocked by all the jolly wallet crunching legos and scaletrix on display ,the only problem being you need a license to play .

It is that way on purpose. No way to skip ahead to the front of the line. With this game you have to put in time. Real time not game time. It rewards those that have persistence. It does not reward instant gratification. That is why so many older generation people play this game. That is a core concept which will never change no matter how much you squawk about it.

You do have a point ,but then again
a game is a game
you don't go to Ireland so that you can get your eyes gouged out
you don't go to New jersey to get shot up.
No
you go to New Jersey to experience Jersey Shores and Ireland to purchase Heroine
whats the point of gratification when you don't even have to work that hard for it and money comes so easily????

Nobody here is twisting your arm to play this game. This game is not for everyone. If you find it is not up to your standards well you know where the door is use it.

queuing for your monthly paid can only be exciting so many times before you take them for granted and after a few month you only do so to stay alive and buy funny looking things to put on your mantelpiece

hey ,my training queue is still packed and I still do login regularly to check up on corp bulletins and participate in corp events
but beside from that , soloing and pve is pretty much meaningless and without the proper skills , I am like an anvil tied to their back

Hm, I still don't understand where you are going - first you talk about SP, rewards and stuff, and suddenly about EVE going down the drain.

I am not sure that "google searches" are a very good source to learn something about a subject. I am currently thinking about growing a mustache. My top google searches for "mustache" are
- weebl
- newgrounds
- fake
- famous
- for kids
- women
- crime

So, does that mean I have to be a famous criminal women or kid to grow a mustache? Shocked

Could just do the following:

Quote:
Warning: By claiming sovernty your alliance will become a valid target for anyone in high and low security space.

Do you wish to continue?

no
that means women and kids want a moustache but they can't grow one so they want to buy a fake one to look cool or sily
people also associate mustaches with criminals or famous people like Salvador Dali and Groucho Marx
it does tell you something about people's general view of the game or problems faced by the players

You got EvE totally wrong.

EvE's main currency is not ISK.
EvE's main currencies are time and trust.

So, switch over onto farming the correct currency and neither ISK nor "having nothing to do" will have any negative effect on you any more.

In an online game, "is down" is usually people doing a quick check to find out if there is news of that the server is down when they can't connect. "xbox live is", "psn is", "steam is" and "wow is" all have "down" come up as a guess from google. "d3 is" even comes up with a "down", and I'll bet that has more to do with their early server trouble than players who think the end is near.

In general though, one should plug away at google's guessing algorithm for humor more than for any deeper meaning.

Yeah. I mean the neutral alts are just as neutral as anyone else's.

No, it really isn't. More to the point, if you feel that it's meaningless now, then guess what: it will feel just as meaningless when you have the “proper skills” because it will be no different.

The beauty of the EVE skill system is that it lets you play the game rather than be concerned with character progression or grinding XP or the like. The game isn't rewarding you for not playing — it's simply not penalising you for not doing inane stuff (aka grinding).
