Suggestion for shuttles

Someone may have suggested this before, but I'd like to see shuttles have some more utilitarian applications.

Advanced Shuttles - Shuttles with 1 or 2 low slots.
Couriers - Shuttles with 1 medium and 1 or 2 low slots.

Just a thought.

They should just do T2 shuttles and make each race get diff ones.
Ya know a faster one, a tougher one, a holds a little more one, and what ever a caldari one dose I guess.
Hell even make them the easiest T2 thing to make like how shuttles are easy.

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.

T1 super shuttles :

Executioner
Atron
Slasher
Condor

T2 super shuttles

Malediction/Crusader
Ares/Taranis
Stiletto/Claw
Raptor/Crow

They are very much shuttle-like - speed, agility, warp speed ( for T1's, T2's are much faster even ) + they also get different slots, much better stats and huge cargo holds ( when compared to normal shuttles ).

There's your Advanced Shuttles and Courier Shuttles.

I still want the shuttle aspect and not have high end slots. Also reduces structure so that it will not be used as an inexpensive offensive platform. I just want to be able to expand some cargo or put a warp stablizer and possilby a booster to really get around quickly and relatively inexpensively. And if I happen to get caught, I woun't lose much if it is destroyed.

Soooo.......fly an interceptor and dont put stuff in the highs?

Last time I checked interceptors were running @11 mil isk. A shuttle is @ 18k. Even increasing the cost of the shuttle ten fold still yields a cost less than 2% of an interceptor. That's the point. If it is destroyed I'm not out all that much. With or without insurance.

They should remove warp to zero and not allowed safe spots to be created anywhere within 170km of a stargate (to stop inta BM's)

Then they should make shuttle be able to warp to 0 while using auto pilot.

Small gang PVP would benefit from this, and 0.0 would actually become dangerous again. Plus moving yourself quickly wouldn't be a case of 'jump clone or gtfo'

Theres two types of Dangerous, with one being what real people like and the other being what gatecamping killmail wh****s likes.

The first one is like in NS or a wormhole where if you dont pay attention youll get jumped and ganked.

The second one, the one your referring to, will just make gatecamping 100x easier and be practically instadeath for any travelling ship. I'd hardly call the gatecamping "small gang pvp"

I use them a lot for AP'ing around high sec. but if I'm in a hurry I'll take a buzzard with warp rigs and inertia stabs.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

My point exactly. If there was a development, they might be useful for more than a collector's item. I don't want to diminish the gate camping, just make it a little more challenging if someone is in a shuttle. Having a shuttle an option to escape gate camping (not all the time, just increase the likelyhood of escape), might actually make them a functional option in one's repertoire.

What about the Blockade Runners? They are really quick and hold a very decent amount.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

This... when I want to get somewhere quick I take my Crane... not the fastest blockade runner, but it does the job...

Plus it has the bonus of having a few tricks up its sleeve if it needs to GFTO...

There is no such thing as a fair fight...

If your fighting fair you have automatically put yourself at a disadvantage.

For being so useless I seem to own so many. They are cheap ships to get you from one station to another.

When warping to a stargate in a pod it would sometimes drop you out of warp just outside of jump range. This is slightly inconvenient if you're outside of highsec.

I haven't tested if this is still the case after the patch where you can click warp to and jump with one button.

What I'm looking for is high natural velocity and high warp, small cargo, low threat value i.e. a courier. Throwing in a low slot or two for warp stabilizer and/or inertial stabilizer or overdrive, plus a mid slot for afterburner or micro-warp or even a target breaker. There is so much that can be done without unbalancing and add value.

I am bumping your thread because you have overcome the character creator and produced an attractive avatar, not because i think this is a suggestion worth dev time.

I think shuttles are cheap, expendable and should remain so. You're asking for more specialized variant of shuttles....which imo its unnecessary because you can create specialized shuttle-frigates with t1 frigs and rigs. Wig warp rigs and inertia stabs on a condor you should achieve the speed you are looking for, all for less than 800k isk
