Yes, I'm sure they're making these changes, not because it was a "feature" which was getting exploited, but because it was a good and proper game mechanic which made the game better for absolutely everyone involved.

If you mean after the changes, meh. Why foot the bill, only a few of us run around in empire anyway. Besides, if the changes don't go through, they'd be "trapped" opps.

I am going to have to chime in. The reason I ran for CSM was because of the BPO exploit. I wanted to make sure for the players that they were represented if space shenanigans were ever to ensue again. And sure enough I was there in Iceland to be briefed about the POS exploit as part of the CSM 2.

This is NOT an exploit. CCP made it clear how this was going to work before they shipped it. They were told by a number of folks including some CSM that the massive dog piling could be expected. In fact Jade even mentioned it in my campaign thread for CSM 7 when the goons made it clear back then that I was going to be perma-dec-ed out of Eve that once this went into effect I would have most of Eve fighting goons along side me. And in fact, last time someone bothered to check 38 corps/alliances have joined the hunt.

Working as initially intended I'd say. I don't think CCP realized the corner case that an ego in charge of 8000 zealots war dec-ing everyone that he felt offended him would shape this debate. Sorry, this isn't a debate anymore (never was really).

So CCP is making their first change to the war dec mechanics since the new system shipped. You had to expect it, not this soon maybe, but you knew a change would happen, it is the software waffle effect, the first one is never any good. CCP has decided how to make the second waffle, not because of an exploit, but because CCP thinks this change could make folks more selective about their allies. Maybe, or maybe not so much. But the change isn't addressing an exploit, its the refinement of the waffles of war.

I don't think I'm going to like the second waffle as it still doesn't address a lot of issues with the current war system, but I'm hoping that third waffle could be pretty tasty.

In the mean time, stop the "exploit" claims. They are nonsense. This is NOTHING like the POS exploit, or the BPO scandal. This is just another case of a bad first waffle.

Some of us had what we think would have made the second waffle the "war waffle of awesome", some players, some CSM, even some CCP I bet, but we have to see how this second waffle works out first, at this point we will have to wait and see.

I'd lay this challenge out though, goons, prove you don't care about wars in high sec (you've claimed that maybe as much as it would cost me to pay for all my allies once 1.1 lands) and drop all the current wars you have. If they don't matter then why have them? Do that and then I'd believe you.

Listen, buddy, just because you were lucky to get elected on the CSM doesn't mean you are a game developer that gets a say in what is or is not an exploit, because you are not qualified to do so.

Also, being on Jade's BS bandwagon doesn't exactly make you more trustworthy either.

I happen to have gone to a game design college and I have the credentials to say what is and is not an exploit, I've also been a gamer for 14 years.

Same for CCP, so if CCP and guys like me, who know what the f. they are talking about say that something is not working as intended or is an exploit, it means everyone else shuts the **** up and takes our word for it.

Something for nothing is always an exploit.

You CANNOT POSSIBLY ******* tell me or CCP or anyone with a brain, that CCP actually intended for Jade's bullshit to be possible, 70 vs 1 wardec, okay? Hence why they are FIXING IT, BECAUSE it BECAME an EXPLOIT.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this community should thank it's lucky stars that CCP is an awesome and forgiving developer, unlike entities like Blizzard, who mass ban and don't give a **** in cases like these.
