Been a while since I last played and see lots of ne stuff.

Wha's the Manticore like as I see a fair few of them about now. Any decent fits or are they still a paper tiger?

Paper tiger? Well, it sure doesn't tank like a boss yet. P

But, uh, yes, SBs are used a lot. What do you want to do?

Hound or Purifier is still the way to go for SBs.

Word, they're some fairly specialized crafts though.. They have the tank of a frigate, but being torpedo boats they can't really fight frigates, they'd have to go for things like cruisers or even battleships to really do some damage. Being a squishy frigate they might have trouble surviving long enough to really do anything agains those bigger ships though.
They're excellent for catching mining Ospreys in low-sec or the like.. or stealthing FW missions, but otherwise I'd think of it more like a recon ship that's able to add in some nice damage while blending in with a group.

Of course they can fit bomb launchers too, but that's an entirely different story.

Depends on what you want to do with it.

Manticore has more midslots than the other SB's.

So if you're in to using tactics that involve Ewar, the Manticore is a great ship.

small SB gangs are still the bane of operations in null.
it only takes 2-3 of them to kill a ratting BS unless he is over tanked.
They have a nasty habit of disappearing when any real force is brought to bare against them only to re-appear ells ware.
bombs come in more flavors then people seem to relies with lock breaker and Void bombs opening up some interesting tactics in larger gangs and fleet engagements.
