Why would that be Darling? I mean, the thing is since my last corporation which is now a few months back, they told me what next ship I should get after the caracal...however I kinda forgot it by now..it was either the Drake or the Raven...not sure..

They also told me that the Raven is quite a slow ship but a powerful one...one thing I remember for me is to keep in mind that once I proceed with a new ship, some missions won't accept it anymore.

Let's see what I can or could come up with.

I trained to 5 with my minmatar (sorry if spelled wrong) ships, as I do like the design of them :) It is HAWT

Heh, you remind me myself, I remember how it was, without corporation EVE is pretty hard game to learn and play. With corp you could do l4 missions without requirements ,by helping other corpmates who can do them, reward can be shared.
Matar ships are mainly used to PVP, Caldari have probably the best PvE ships in universe, and drakes are universal. This baby can be as effective as battleship while nullsec ratting, same on missions, this ship can often tank l4s.
Most.Important.Thing find good corporation, it should be organised, active, and have various of activities, so members could help you with any problems. EVE is terribly complex game, trought my first year I was learning about mechanisms of professions etc. Then i went to null, and I had to learn even more, skill up to fleet doctrines, learn to survive there, and how to become space bilionare.
Honestly, almost all of mine past corps were terrible, they had bad organisation, were slighty social, I have good memories only of one, but it was closed.
Now I'm glad that I've joined mine, maybe most of pepole have nullsec mentality, but we have everything organised, ship replacement program, if we lose ship on ops, and it isn't covered by alliance reimbruisment, mentors for newbros, cap and supercap squads, most of corp participating in PvP almost everyday, because EVE is about killing ships. You can be miner, you can be trader, you can be ratter, even scammer but all that isk have one purpose, to buy ship, kill others and die terribly in fire. Remember this young padawan. Well, unless you are one of these strange guys who are enjoying ship spinning and watching their wallet, full with isk, without purpose.

If you can fly something bigger than cruiser, use t2 guns and mods, the best idea is to move to null, you will get battles, you will make money much faster than highsec carebear and you will die often. The essence of EVE.
And never ever trust guys who want some kind of deposit, that's just old scam, if corp wants you, then they won't ask for money, nullsec corps are rich enough.

If you will be looking for corp check if they have site, killboard and forum. Without it they're probably one of these beginner CEO's
who want to have corp, mainly for taxes income. Usually they are poorly organised and with small members activity.
