if software freezes the graphic card, its a broken hardware/driver. Its quite simple. Even if its the only software which causes this.
But its not, I had another freeze in a different game as well.

again: application software must not be able to stop hardware/PCs from working when running on todays operational systems. If it does, its hardware or driver issue.

If a company sells defective hardware or continuously releases defective tribers for their products, Its obviously to recommend not purchasing those products. Common sense.

im no expert and i dont claim to understand half of what is being said here :)

I just know i have something wrong somewhere.... it is either eve, drivers or hardware.

I just know that i did have this issue with my old GPU.
Then i bought a high end GPU and still had the same issues.

To me that indicates that it is not the GPU that is the issue.
It is either eve, drivers or other hardware.

So if it is hardware that is the issue.
Can it be my motherboard not handling the gpu proper...?
To little power from the PDU?

I have tried to stress test my computer with other games that i run in Max graphic settings and programs that stress test cpu, memory and gpu. This issue only appears when i run eve.

It have gone so far that the issue is quite specific.
1. Two or more clients
2. Use the map

It have never happend with just 1 account open.
It happens 90% of the times when i use the ingame map.

So for me, this indicates that something quite specific is wrong somewhere.
Im not claiming that i know, im just guessing here :)

Hopefully will someone way smarter than me come up with an answer, solution or just a fix :p
But ill keep bumping this thread since it seems more than 1 person have this issue.

Edit.
fyi, i have reinstalled windows, all drivers and formatet my hdd´s more than once (ie clean install of eve)

Same symptom, same gpu but crash during combat running only one client.
I had to do a hardreset to get the fans revving up agian and I´m sure that the SSD-drive eve is installed on doesnt like these freeses.

I also started a thread:
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&find=unread&t=129753

I have to egmit that I gave up by changing the gpu to nvidia but I am to old for troubleshooting.
When i come home from work and if i have time to spare for eve, im not going to spend that time on troubleshooting.

I also created a petition and the answer from CCP was that AMD is aware of the problem and working on it.

I hope they sort ot the problem for you guys, because it is unbearable.

Updating to the latest NVIDIA Beta drivers 304.79 for my 560ti card fixed the client freezing then crashing to desktop for me. Strange though as up until the 21/07/12 I had had any crashing issues with Eve.

This has nothing to do with Nvidia... Pls read thread.
(dont mean to offend you, but usually threads want to take a direction that is not the right one..)

And if a CTD would be the only issue, it would at least be better than a complete freese.. =/

yeh having to restart the whole computer is not fun.
sadly ive lost some ships this way.

atleast it seems to be an software issue then...?
and we can just hope that it does get fixed soon....
but sadly this is not a new problem (atleast not for me), i have had it for over 6 months now.

Hey Choans,

Did you try turning off Anti-Aliasing in Eve? Might also want to disable it in the AMD drivers also. I know that when I run multiple clients (which, I currently have 5 running at this moment but, I'm using a 4870x2) that it definitely sped up the performance and allowed me to run this many and more clients at once.

Hope this helps.
