Hi CCP,

i really like the work of your art team, especially the new textures and missile effects. But i really was hoping for some kind of "KAWOOOMBADDABOOMPEWPEW*-Explosion that lasts at least 5 seconds or longer with several smaller explosions and a lot more flying fireballs and debris instead of just a "BOOOM".
We are not playing a space ship game where we control little fighters, but ships that are bigger than carriers of the US Navy. The speed of the explosion is way too fast and subexplosions would make it more realistic. For frigates, fighters and maybe cruisers the explosions are ok, but not for BCs BSs and sure not for bigger stuff...

Please put some more work into the explosions before you throw them on the server! I am waiting for so long for new and finally good ship explosions and if this is the final result, i am really a bit disappointed :(.

Dev posts are welcome! :)

Not all of us play the game with GTX1337 and i7 you know and not all of us play the game solo, some actually do big fleet engagements when a slightly more (or longer) graphical strain/animation could mean a huge drop in fps.

Bla... so i could say the same about the new ship textures, backgrounds and missile effects/new weapons. You want EVE to stay still just because some people dont have actual (NOT high end) hardware? So in 20 years you want that EVE look the same as it does in 2003? Thats ignorant, egoistic and would mean that EVE will some day be outdated and dead. I dont want EVE to die. It should evolve with the actual hardware and if there is place for an option for older PCs, why not. But not for ever, else i want my windows 2000 support and my 60fps with my old NVIdia carf from 2003.

The explosions should flash rapidly with bright red, blue, pink, and other colors that makes the viewer dizzy.

Are you trying to insult nearly every PvPer in the game? Cause you're doing a good job.

Don't see how he's doing that.

Being against progress in a game for no reason other than lack of willingness to upgrade your system to keep up with the times on the other hand, is going against what being a pc gamer is all about.

Exactly, I don't understand why all of us have to suffer because some have antique PCs.
I have a computer that is almost 4 years old, with a Phenom quad processor, an antique motherboard (k9a2cf), 4 GB of RAM and a 1 TB HDD, and the only thing I upgraded on it is the GPU, which at first was an ATI Radeon 4870x2 that could handle eve NO PROBLEM , but then it burned out, so I got a 6970.

Right now, with that antique setup, which shouldn't cost more than 500 euros these days (granted, it was 2000 when I bought it), Eve runs at 500+FPS in station, and minimum 50 FPS in big fleets, which is MORE than enough.

When they made the switch to Trinity, I couldn't play Eve for 5 months until I got that PC, because my old one could only handle the antique graphics, and what did I do? I bought a new PC.

Don't ask for crap graphics in Eve just because you don't want to invest in a new computer, I want eye candy too.

Cool people don't watch explosions. Just fire the last volley and walk away.

Also, I am too fast, small and short too, but my girl's a champ and never complains.

Cool effects, explosions and hi-res textures are one thing, making those cool effects, explosions unnecessarily long is another thing. Telling your girlfriend/wife to put on a make up so she can look pretty is a good suggestion, but telling her to keep it all day long is ignorant and egoistic.

I don't, but forcing shiny graphics on people is and will never be a good idea, CCP knows this, they have the technology and the resources to develop higher and better graphics and brings out everything the carbon engine's capable of. Did they do it? no, because they know that they need to balance them with what their users are capable of.

If the changes are significant, like the new V3 for example, yes, i'd probably agree, but for something that's barely important, eg. when the downside outweighs the gain, then no.

FUnny how times change.

Hmm makes me want to find X-wing and Tie Fighter to see what those look like again.

X-wing vr Tie Fighter click to about 5 min mark

The Star Wars games use bitmaps, which are crap ...
... that's why i'm advocating explosions like from Wing Commander ...
... because they were realtime ... and much better looking.

And yeah ... awesome graphics back then ! *lol*
