Sorry if you guys here this a lot but i am looking for a decent example or formula i can use for excel to track goods sold. I am not looking to track goods in game but basic stuff like when i bought it and did i end up making a profit blah blah blah. Am i over thinking this or is it as easy as creating columns designed for specific stuff and then having a end total of rather or not i made profit or not with a specific item.

Really just need a row with item name, buy price, sale price, number of items, gross profit, taxes, net profit. Pretty straight forward really. Shoot for 25% profit and you should be on your way to your first billion in a few weeks. As you build your list of items, can initially keep everything on one page but as that page fills, may consider creating seperate tabs for the different categories.

You can also create a tab for hub trading where you can track isk/jump and isk/cargo hold space. Maybe another for industry where you can track isk/job or isk/hr of manufacture, etc.

Maybe another tab where you use the above information as well as contract prices for someone else to haul it for you where you then can include the costs of hauling into the profit.

You can also create a tab to determine if it is more profitable to sell the item on the market or sell the reprocessed minerals, this is good for mission runners mostly.

You can also use google docs and use the api from eve-central to import prices (not sure its possible with just straight up excel, I haven't figured out how yet anyway). Use the eve-central prices as a guide however as those prices can be many hours old. An hour in trading can mean the difference between profits and losses, depending on the item, volume, supply and demand.

Also you can do a search for eve spreadsheet and find a plethora of examples and downloads. If it can be tracked in a spreadsheet, you can be sure someone has already done it and it's out there on the web waiting for you to find it and use it.

Also if you are simply buying and selling, you can bypass the spreadsheet, look at your wallet, do the math in your head, and you can see the amount of profit per item as well as the percentage. You can do it in your head with no need for a spreadsheet. But spreadsheets are always good. You might also try Quicken or Quickbooks. :)

Yea this character is newish to trading but actually has around 800mil starting out to play with so the profits are already rolling in. I am currently playing around with the Jita market currently station trading and making a decent profit for just playing around with it as of now. I plan on spreading out and moving good to different mission hubs soon!

The only problem i am having now is going through every single buy and sell order making sure i am on top of the .01 war.

Is the best way to check is to go through the wallet and click market details from each order or is there a way to make it quicker with folders?

put them in your quickbar, and scrolldown? if you have highlight my orders clicked, it's pretty quick.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.
