Attribute remap timer

I am confused about how the attribute remap timer works. I was under the impression that apart from at start up, you could never have more than one remap available and that the 1 year timer started from the moment you last used your final remap. Thus you could have one remap available, not use it for 2 years, then remap and have to wait a full year before another became available.

I quit a little over a year ago and my main had one remap available. When I started up again I found he now has 3 remaps available. I understand one was granted as a result of the Learning Skills removal rebalance, but where did the last one come from?

Converserly, my second account alt had used up all his remaps at the time when I quit. A year on he now has one remap available. I don't get it. If he got that for the Learning skills rebalance, why didn't he also get another for the normal one year timer, like my main appears to have done?

Bonus remaps were given out when the learning skills were removed and I believe when the new character builds changed. The number of remaps given out was a little inconsistent depending on your remap status at the time.

Your initial understanding was correct, the one year remap timer only starts once all your remaps are used.

Hmmm, that would explain it. My main was still mapped for Memory/Intellect, specifically for the Learning skills followed by industry and thus would be a candidate for maximum compensation for removing the learning skills.

My second account, followed that path but then remapped to Perception/Willpower, just before I quit. Damn.
