As this will likely further crunch mineral supplies, I figure ya'll nerds are probably interested.

This is good news for me as a 40+ covetor bpo owner :)

This is bad news for me as I have skilled a new barge miner and bought a orca pilot with a orca.

Cant help having mixed feelings.

after watching a thrasher fail to gank a hulk yesterday i doubt goons are paying out too much and why we're seeing high sec miners coming out to mine again.

While they've since restocked, someone cleaned out almost every Covetor in Jita last night. Lol

Barge buff is all well and good and frankly was done exactly how they should have done it - you trade EHP for mining capability and vice versa. It also doesn't come until winter and so is meaningless until then. It can also be argued that we'll still be able to drastically affect mineral output by continuing even then - gank all the hulks/covetors, force everyone into higher EHP but lower yield ships if they want to mine. However, we can't say that for sure until we know what the mining capacity & EHP figures are really like.

So why don't goon just buy every plex on the market and genuinely **** **** up. oh yeah, goon by name goon by nature.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

You're trolling.

Still, "buy out all the plexes" has been done as a stunt already some time ago, and prices were back to normal within a day or two, if that. They defy being screwed with that way.

So you're telling me if you owned them ALL, you couldn't set the price at whatever you wanted?

I may be mistaken, but aren't new plexes generated every time someone buys one with RL cash?
Because if that's the case then everyone else (whoever spends € on it) would just start undercutting the goonie plexes that was bought up en masse.

Yeah that's basically what happened last time someone tried this. A bunch of people went "Billion isk plexes? Don't mind if I do!" and then price collapsed.

So you just buy theirs too, you've got the iskies haven't you? I wanna see chaos. And people will only purchase a limited number with real monies.

You do understand how large amounts of isk that is needed to control a market like the plex market?
