oh no, another exploit. at any one point, there are probably hundreds of un-patched exploits with similar or even more intrusive capabilities as this one in windows. there are probably thousands like this in linux and mac, it's just that there is such a small portion of computer users using them that nobody sees as much to gain out of finding those ones.

I personally use Opera.

People who use firefox or chrome aren't any better than those that use IE anyway.

Businesses use the hell out of IE. Lot of business applications are tied into it. And to update those apps those companies charge money for compatibility updates... Which is complete BS, but they know in many instances that they're your only option because moving over would be a nightmare...or at least more work than anyone wants to do...

It anit all efficient in the corporate world.

Lazy developers write code that only works on one version of IE. It's a nightmare.

I have IE for business stuff and Chrome for "non-business" browsing on my work PC.

I never really liked IE, it seemed clunky compared to Firefox. Plus I had adblock plus and no script installed. Now that I have found similar addons for chrome I use it exclusively. I have no idea if they've made smiliar addons for IE but my parents still use IE and everytime I see it in action I am never impressed.

As far as securities I sort of depend on the google avg toolbar to prescreen sites before i click on them, and with hte adblock and noscript and flash blocker I feel I can scope a place out safely, of course I know that's not a guarantee.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.
