Ha! It was TradeWars 2002 on a 486 DX2/50 in Highschool for me. Never did MMOs until EVE. Think I picked the right one first time out. The Brutality of it all... appeals to me.

Old

And damn forgot about tradewars, that was a great game at the time.

Why? If he were good enough for your corp when you didn't know his age, why would this revelation change anything? Sad

To answer OP: over 30

Maybe they're responsible adults and don't want to do their whiskey shots around a minor....

Also Way over 30 ( Actually 52+)

Started on 'Chainmail' (D&D's Father) & 'Tunnels & Trolls', migrated to 'Space Opera' then Traveller.

Followed all of Traveller up until TSR's spat with GDW over Gary Gygax that killed GDW and made TSR so weak it was taken over by Wizards of the Coast for a Pittance.

Played Elite on the BBC Micro, then migrated to MUDs online, then moved to EverQuest and finally re-found EVE a couple of years back

(I did have a dalliance with EVE in the mid 2000's thanks to a free trial on a computer magazine. Unfortunately my PC at the time was rubbish & EVE showed it up With no money to build a new PC, EVE was scrapped along with my pilot of the time. Really wish I built a better PC back then!

LOL, Tunnels & Trolls by Flying Buffalo Games. That brings back some memories. Avalon Hill "Squad Leader" and "Starship Troopers," Steve Jackson Games "Car Wars," TSR "Top Secret."

Older (closing on five decades).

Loved Trade Wars.... You know the first host on Blues Clues was a Trade wars PLayer. :) I kid you not.

Cut my teeth on a commodore 64 learning to program the basic Language, Grew up to be a programmer and now Software quality assurance anayst in real life. Scary but true. :)

The theme music for Elite was preferable to the doleful opening music we have with Eve: Inferno... I keep hoping the music will be better with the next patch, that maybe it'll be like Apocrypha again. Instead it's gotten progressively woeful. I try to log in as fast as I can to get it to stop playing. Less Christopher Franke on lithium and more Hans Zimmer please.

Oh, and... over.
