Cybernetic Recording log 1894-5 Onboard Nightmare Vessel

***Cybernetic Visual Recording***
A silver- and red-stained hallway stretched out in front of the cyberoptic camera. The world seemed shaky, and voices could be heard whispering as the tint of the world changed to a yellowish hue for a brief moment. As the person fell to their hands and knees, the camera followed suit, stopping only inches from the ground.

In the floor's reflection, the image of captain Ciran Fera could be seen, gasping for air as the whispering grew. The reflection smiled with black eyes for a moment while the vision tinted again to yellow, then red. Grabbing the rail of the hallway, the captain stood back up and turned around to see a male crew member dressed in shipboard "Marine" armor.

"Are you alright ma'am?" the male asked. The vision flashed for a moment, with a blade of shattered glass in a bloody hand held to the soldiers neck, and in an instant the vision of the violent act was gone.

"Yes, I'm.. I'm alright.." said the hallucinating captain. "I'm fine.." The soldier stared at the captain for a moment and nodded, walking away, seemingly skipping time in short seconds as the voices returned. Whispering words that faded into nothing.

Now she walked down the hallway. The interior of the starship was distinguishable as a Nightmare class hull, and the sleek, contouring insides and sharp contrast of colors seemed to waver in the ambient light. For a few moments the video skipped as if everything was normal, showing her walking down the hallways, greeting people and smiling.

The recording resumed looking at the captains quarters on-board the ship. As the door opened, the camera was pointed at the floor. When the view panned up, everything looked as though it were made out of glass and crystalline. Looking back after stepping in, the door was gone. The crystals grew sharp, pointing at the camera and eyes of the captain. Sounds of crackling and shattering glass could be heard as the crystals shot into the captain's eyes. After a few moments of blackness, the recording resumed from the bridge of the ship. Outside the bridge, there seemed to be a black hole anomaly inside a wormhole.

The captain's hands came up and rubbed at her eyes for a moment "W..what is this?" was all she could say as she looked around at the empty bridge. Stepping up to the view screen of the black hole, the image of the previous fight in an incursion could be seen, with the faces of those that she saved as a shattered bunch of glass shards.

A whispering mechanical voice rang out. "Those you save, those you cherish mean nothing. Why do you fight?" She stumbled back for a moment as the view screen began to crack

"There is no escape from the inevitable. Why do you fight so hard?" The captain gritted her teeth and tried to open the door to the rest of the ship. For a moment, the door did not budge – but suddenly it opened, just as the view screen shattered into the void of space. The blast door closed right as the captain escaped into the interior of the ship, sealing off the bridge and the vacuum of space.

Turning around from the blast door was the same bridge again, the view finder broken with shards hanging as if stuck in time – weightless and beautiful, while the black hole pulsed in the distance. Walking up to a shard, the captain picked it out of the air and held it up. As soon as her hand touched the shard, it drew blood. spreading over the glass shard as if it were veins inside a body. Defying gravity, the blood ran up and started dripping onto the ceiling of the bridge. Like a dream, the captain gasped in awe as the ceiling became a pool of crimson red.

The memories of those slain in battle swam in front of her eyes. "Look at the destruction you've caused. Saving a few at the cost of thousands. You are a monster.."

"I am not a monster!" she yelled at the pool above her, causing ripples across its surface. "I fight for what I believe in!" She threw the shard at the crimson pool and suddenly the fluid fell onto her like a tidal wave.

The vision of the recording turned red as a scream rang out in the small tidal force. The recording switched to a camera in the captain's quarters, Fera just stood there, swaying side to side slowly, drawing a shard of a bottle across her arms. She cut symbols into the flesh of her arm, humming softly: "Darkness fell upon the land, the sea and the sky as I die." The camera feed started to go to static.

"Wake up. Wake up, Are you alright?" said a male voice.

The blackness turned to light to reveal a doctor's face looking down from behind a mask "Ma'am, are you alright?" he says again.

The view panned up and down as Fera nodded her head. "I..I think so, What happened?"

The doctor's face was solemn for a moment.

"Ma'am, we were hoping you could tell us why your ship's crew is gone, and there's blood everywhere." said a man in a suit from the door way. The symbol on his jacket was the Caldari Navy cross...
