Why does the Kronos....

... get a bonus to Webifiers? Isn't that mainly a PvP thing? No wonder you rarely see Kronii(?) but you see lots of the other Marauders.

Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

Blasters like it when you web a target to a standstill right next to you. Also, the Paladin has the same web bonus and the Vargur is the only Marauder which doesn't have a ewar bonus geared for damage application (Golem has TP instead of web bonus).

Well, to be fair the Golem couldn't operate without Target Painters anyhow. It is just the Webifier bonuses I can't wrap my head around. Wouldn't a Falloff bonus be much better?

You really can't complain that much about 90% webs. Only eight ships in the game have them. And you really can use them to hit frigates with large blasters (or even rails) if they get close.

I'm not really complaining as much as I am questioning their reasoning behind putting that bonus on a PvE ship.

Imagine a Paladin that got the 7.5% Range Bonus the Apoc got instead of webs.

Sigh.

Believe it or not, webs do have a practical use in PVE. Same as target painters, same as NOS.

Now, if it had a bonus to warp scrambling....

Kronos is fine and the web allows you to fit 425 rails that can still nuke upclose targets, makes it a lot easier to deal with them.

Yes. You should wait for rats to come into web range, then hit them with rails.

If you fight Serpentis that's generally gonna happen and with that web you're fine doing so meaning you don't have to jump through hoops to avoid it.

I can understand it on the Kronos.

I puzzles me on the Paladin though. Lasers don't track well up close even with a webbed target.

In that case, the target is just not webbed enough.

Hey, Golems need 2-3 TPs.

Tachs with gleam, tracking comp and web will hit an orbiting omen at 10km for 300, without web you hit for 0. It's not that you plan your strategy for hitting upclose but rather that you become more versatile and can deal with upclose target in case it happens and perhaps you're in trouble tanking wise. Less hassle, more applied dps = faster/safer missions.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Because it's not a pve ship, people pve with but doesn't mean it's a pve ship.

Tengu too was considered as a pve ship until some guys start kicking arses with ^^

100mn ab is a cruiser mod?

According to CCP, marauders actually are pve ships. Can't be bothered to find the post.

You are doing something wrong. With pulse lasers and Imperial Navy MF, the Paladin murders everything within web range. Especially with a nice Federation Navy Stasis Webifier on there.

Webbing also helps your drones hit stuff. Spider drones cry when they get webbed down.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Shouldn't they be dead before in pulse MF range?

As OMGAWESOME as a range, RoF or resist bonus would be on the Kronos, I don't really see it happening. Lol

And aside from that, I can't think of a bonus that would be nicer/more appropriate to have on the boat than the web bonus (as has been said, 90% webs are really handy, even in PvE).
Drone something maybe? That would be very Gallente.

Anyway, mostly fine as it is.

they used to be 99% webs.... god I miss my 15km 99% domi web :(

and back then I'd just ignore the frigs (and/or let my drones out on em) till they were the last thing and it was easy to instapop them with one shot. now its just fit more tracking comps.

I thought the standard kronos fit used 2x Tracking Computers which made the web pretty much useless.
